While The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is considered by many to be a fun and captivating experience, it's not always the most technically sound game. With glitches and bugs that have existed since Skyrim first released, there's a lot that can potentially go awry during active gameplay. However, one player managed to witness a particularly creepy sight.

The amount of glitches that continue to actively populate Skyrim tend to be both a blessing and a curse. On the one hand, depending on how bad the glitch is, it can ultimately break immersion for someone looking to experience Skyrim to its absolute fullest. Although, most of the glitches are quite humorous and can lead to some incredibly hilarious antics, like with the funny deer glitch that one player encountered. In this instance, the bug was more unsettling, if anything else.

A Reddit user by the name of Kooky-Mode-7235 encountered a rather disconcerting sight when entering the cellar of their custom Hearthfire home. Upon turning the corner, the two mannequins the player has in the corner actually turn to look at the player as though they were actual NPCs and not inanimate objects. This inadvertently adds an element of horror that most fans likely would not expect during active gameplay.

Mannequins that move on their own have been a staple feature of many horror games, such as Condemned: Criminal Origins and Resident Evil 7. Though, it's safe to assume that the moving mannequins in Skyrim were not an intentional design choice on Bethesda's part and is most likely another glitch that has yet to be patched out. Either way, it's still unnerving to see these mannequins looking and interacting with the player character the same way a regular NPC would.

In any case, it's amazing to see players still encountering new user interactivity moments within Skyrim. Last year, Skyrim fans celebrated its 9-year anniversary with a number of appreciation posts, fan art, and cosplay. It truly is rare to see a game as old as this one persist in terms of popularity. This in turn makes the upcoming sixth installment in The Elder Scrolls series matter that much more.

There hasn't been much by way of official news in terms of The Elder Scrolls 6. E3 2021 came and went and there still wasn't any news regarding The Elder Scrolls 6, even after being announced several years ago. It will be interesting to see if The Elder Scrolls 6 manages to live up to or even surpass the impressive precedent that Skyrim has set.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is available now on PC, PS3, PS4, Switch, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
