Sometimes Skyrim can go haywire by itself, but there are also some people in the community who try to push the game to its limits, such as this one player whose collection of potions almost crashes their Xbox. Consistently showing up on lists of PC role-playing games that people need to play, Bethesda's 2011 epic release is a shining beacon of longevity, despite the fact that it's starting to show its age, not to mention the number of glitches fans continue to come across.

However, that doesn't detract from the overall popularity of the game. Its immersive qualities can keep players engaged for hours as they quest, loot, and get into all kinds of fights. But no matter what dangers lie ahead, Skyrim has a wealth of potions to see the Dragonborn through the most difficult of times, but some may be wondering whether it's possible to go too far when it comes to hoarding these vital elixirs.

In a recent post on Reddit, user LongjumpingSlip4427 decided to heed some advice and gather as many Skyrim potion bottles as they could. If nothing else, it would at least help them prepare for future battles. However, to go along with their post, the user also uploaded a brief clip from their playthrough, which shows the floor of a particular room fit to burst with what looks like hundreds of bottles. There are so many, in fact, that the game now runs at a very slow framerate, with LongjumpingSlip4427 adding that this many potions in one place was quite detrimental to their console.

For some reason, Skyrim players love to see whether it's possible to crash the game. Another Skyrim player decided to fill Whiterun with excess gear, while another decided that the interior of Breezehome needed to be surrounded by a ton of literal Elder Scrolls. It's not quite clear why people would intentionally want to tank their frame rates like this, but it's maybe an opportunity for them to test the strength of their systems. In any case, it's quite amusing, if a little strange.

Maybe similar things will occur in The Elder Scrolls 6, whenever that comes out. Given that Bethesda is working on finishing Starfield, the studio's upcoming space faring RPG that some are describing as "Skyrim in space," it's going to be a long time before the next installment in the long-running fantasy franchise sees the light of day. Until then, it seems Skyrim players will continue to push the 2011 game as far as it can go.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim - Anniversary Edition is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
