Bethesda Softworks released The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim back in 2011, and since then, the game has reached progressively more players as it received more ports over new generations of consoles. Reaching a continually growing audience, Skyrim players regularly discover hidden details, create ideal character builds, and formulate some unique strategies for the game's various enemies.

Reddit user Nyxulc recently posted a clip of their travels in which they're climbing to the peak of the Skyrim mountain known as the Throat of the World to visit the Greybeards, one of the early stages of the game's main questline. Just as most Skyrim players, Nyxulc is attacked by the imposing Frost Troll along the way, and they have a hilarious idea to counter the usually overpowered early enemy. Making their way to the large doors of High Hrothgar, Nyxulc's clip begins with The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim player patiently waiting for the Frost Troll to climb the staircase next to the offering chest behind them.

Right as the Frost Troll in Nyxulc's clip approaches the Skyrim player and is about to strike them, the Dragonborn opens the door to High Hrothgar, which initiates a brief loading screen. This would normally result in the player avoiding the creature by putting a door between them, and the Frost Troll would make its way back to where it originally attacked the player, but Nyxulc's video shows a hilarious alternative possibility. Perhaps due to the proximity of the Frost Troll and the Skyrim player, the beast is able to enter the High Hrothgar temple as well, and the Greybeards react appropriately.

The Frost Troll in Nyxulc's clip mysteriously skips past the Skyrim player in entering High Hrothgar as the Dragonborn has to run past the enemy to evade its attacks once again. Passing by two Greybeards, the player turns to face the Frost Troll in order to witness the Greybeards' reaction to the large creature entering their halls. The Greybeards immediately immobilize the Frost Troll by freezing it with a spell and then proceed to pummel the beast while it lies on the hard ground unable to defend itself. When it appears that the Frost Troll is about to return to its feet in Nyxulc's video, the Greybeards once again cast a Frost spell to keep it impaired.

Because of how easily the Greybeards are able to maintain their magical effects on the Frost Troll, the enemy is quickly defeated and flung to the center of the room because of Skyrim's ragdoll physics with anything that's killed. Nyxulc's clip concludes with the Dragonborn looking at the Frost Troll gobsmacked by the situation, but should the player choose to loot the corpse, it has some lucrative rewards. This Frost Troll is often the first big challenge that Skyrim players face, and many choose to run past it at full speed, but few have handled the early conflict the same way that Nyxulc has.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is available now for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
