A veteran player of The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim has just discovered a new weapon, a special kind of Nord Warhammer, after playing the game for over 9,000 hours throughout the years. Skyrim is simply packed with content, and new details were added by Bethesda over time in different editions, so this showcases how easy it is to miss out on small details while exploring the world.

Ever since its original launch back in 2011, Skyrim has managed to become one of the most popular games of all time. There are many reasons for this success, including a community that has created countless excellent Skyrim mods, and the game’s incredibly detailed and immersive world, which has been explored by players in countless ways. After hundreds of hours of playing, most gamers would not even expect to find unique loot or a powerful new weapon, but it keeps happening regardless of that.

Now, an experienced Skyrim gamer found a Honed Ancient Nord Warhammer for the first time and shared their discovery on social media. According to SxhbOnXbox, they have been playing Skyrim for years since its launch but never got this specific version of the weapon, despite finding countless normal Nord hammers that were fairly similar to this one, as well as some of Skyrim's powerful unique hammers.

The people in the comment section discussed the player’s discovery, affirming that the Honed Ancient Nord Warhammer was added in Skyrim Anniversary Edition and could be turned into a Nord Hero Warhammer via crafting. SxhbOnXbox did not play this new edition many times, and that’s probably why the player never found this loot in previous gameplays. Some people on the thread, such as Trokiaz, even satirized the situation, affirming that they played for over 84,000 hours and didn’t even know Draugrs had weapons.

Skyrim players with funny stories and countless hours of gameplay are not uncommon. Last year, a player managed to spend 20,000 hours in Skyrim and still miss some achievements, despite knowing almost every inch of the world. In this case, part of the reason why that happened is that the gamer was missing out on some very specific thievery-related tasks such as pickpocketing people. Other achievements were related to a glitch that stopped players from getting via a story quest or trying out very difficult quests. All of this shows that it’s almost impossible to completely run out of content in Skyrim, and explains why it’s such a popular title years after it was first released.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
