A Skyrim player recently unveiled an amazing discovery: a fairly unknown path through the mountains, which connects the central and eastern regions of Skyrim. This amazing Skyrim discovery shows that there is always interesting content to be found in one of the most enduring games of the past decade.

Skyrim is one of the most successful single-player games of all time. Not only the title was released in different versions for countless platforms, but its modding community and avid players seeking out secrets and mayhem make for a vibrant community that never stops. Part of why people get so engaged with Skyrim is both because of the freedom to do whatever the player wants in the game and also the breathtaking landscapes of Skyrim, which look even more stunning with mods.

Reaching the top of the Throat of the World is perhaps one of the most memorable parts of playing Skyrim for the first time, and a player has recently shared one of the best paths to get to the mountain’s beginning. PhthaloPhoenix detailed an accessible way, which starts by leaving Whiterun and follows east. However, instead of following the road, the catch here is to climb a bit through the mountains and descend southeast. It’s the shortest available route to reach the beginning of the mountain, and it’s surprisingly quite easy to traverse.

In the comments of the Reddit thread, some players discussed the pros and cons of using this route, with many of them completely surprised by how unaware they were of this route, despite playing for several hundred hours. While the original poster argues that this route is way faster than the two most famous ones usually taken by players, which are to go via the road on Whiterun or Helgen, some believed that there was a reason why this route is unknown: danger. This path takes the player through an infernal Wispmother and a troll, which can be fearsome enemies if the player is using combat or other difficulty Skyrim mods. However, these are avoidable enemies, which can make the path easier.

It’s amazing how Skyrim players keep discovering and trying out new things in the game even several years after its launch. For instance, a Skyrim gamer recently tried to gather as many potion bottles as they could and put them all in the same room, generating a hilarious result. There were so many bottles on the screen that the game almost crashed while trying to render the scene.
