Now, a Skyrim player called xDarnelx shared a short clip of their latest discovery on r/skyrim, revealing to other gamers that their characters can use the Magelight spell to light the beacons that can be found near the entrance of the College of Winterhold. The College of Winterhold is home to one of Skyrim’s best joinable factions, the guild of Winterhold mages. Normally, the college member Faralda lights these magical bonfires as part of a scripted scene that happens early in the faction’s questline, but most players do not know that they can do it for themselves by using the same spell that the NPC employs.
Skyrim Players Can Light The Beacons on the Path to the College of Winterhold
In the post’s comments, which obtained over 1,100 upvotes on r/skyrim, some players discussed their previous experiences with Skyrim’s College of Winterhold. While Faralda normally lights up the beacons as soon as players reach the location, some gamers shared experiences when she missed the beacon, and they had to light it up themselves. Others, however, pointed out that they were unable to replicate xDarnelx’s feat, which indicates that this may not work in some versions of the game.
