One Skyrim player spotted multiple guards swimming in the Whiterun region of the game. Skyrim's world is massive, and it has nine subregions called holds that are governed by a Jarl. Whiterun is the largest hold in The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim and includes many cities, villages, and small settlements like farms, and these are usually well protected by guards.

Whiterun is one of the most heavily guarded holds of The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, as soldiers regularly patrol key areas and settlements. Most Skyrim players can easily identify a guard of Whiterun because of their noticeable yellow armor with chainmail and fur boots. These guards are skilled warriors and are usually seen pursuing lawbreakers, but one Skyrim gamer has witnessed several Whiterun troops swimming peacefully.

Reddit user midnight_meat_market uploaded a video on the Skyrim subreddit showing a strange occurrence involving several Whiterun guards. The video initially shows the user talking to a soldier from Whiterun before going to a nearby water body. Unknowingly, they turn the camera towards the small pool of water when they spot a couple of Whiterun guards swimming in it. Initially, what appeared as two guards turned out to be many as a lot more figures appeared in the water body. One by one, the soldiers from The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim step out of the water in an orderly fashion. A total of eight soldiers come out of the water, and they go on about their business, almost like a routine activity. As this happens, another Whiterun guard approaches the player and talks about Psijic monks as if he completely ignores what is happening nearby.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim fans on Reddit found the video quite amusing and had interesting things to say. Many fans jokingly said that the Whiterun guards might be running a secret organization or a cult underneath the water body, while others compared it to famous scenes from mystery movies. However, most Skyrim gamers pointed out that the torches in the guards' hands were automatically set on fire as soon as they came out of the small pool.

Midnight_meat_market's video of swimming Whiterun guards is not the first time The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim players have spotted something unusual in the game. Skyrim might be the number one game when it comes to finding bizarre objects or characters doing unexpected activities. One gamer found a peculiar battleaxe in Skyrim that heals enemies, whereas another saw NPCs fighting over cheese.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim - Anniversary Edition is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
