The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Anniversary Edition launched on November 11th, 2021, celebrating the 10th anniversary of Bethesda's legendary RPG. Skyrim's latest edition contains all the features of the Special Edition, as well as a bunch of quality-of-life improvements and Creation Club Packs.

One of the Creation Club Packs included in Skyrim Anniversary Edition is the Staff of Hasedoki, which includes a quest chain, some new NPCs, and the titular staff. The Staff of Hasedoki is a legendary magical artifact from The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind, and a great find for any wizardly character.

How to Get the Staff of Hasedoki in Skyrim

The Staff of Hasedoki quest will automatically be added to players' journals when they leave the prologue of Skyrim Anniversary Edition. The quest begins by directing players to a bandit camp to the west of Dragonsreach. After clearing the camp, players need to locate and read the Smuggler's Trade Notes. This will unlock the next stage of the quest, which takes place near a ruined house to the west of the Western Watchtower of Whiterun.

At the ruined house, players will encounter an Orc necromancer called Modig Gilgar, who will become hostile if they approach. After defeating Modig, search his body to obtain the Smuggler's Ledger. This will reveal the current location of the staff, in the possession of two necromancers: Ivara of Olenveld and Lushak gra-Ragdam.

Players can enter their lair of Brittleshin Pass from either north or south, though the southern approach is slightly easier. Once the pair of necromancers have been defeated, players can simply take the Staff of Hasedoki from Ivara's body. They may also be able to loot the Necromantic Robes from the Necromantic Grimoire Creation Club Pack.

What is the Staff of Hasedoki in Skyrim

The staff of Hasedoki is imbued with the soul of the legendary wizard Hasedoki, granting it a range of magical powers. In The Elder Scrolls Morrowind, the staff was owned by the Gilgar family of Orc necromancers and was smuggled to Skyrim by Modig Gilgar between the games.

In gameplay terms, the staff has two unique effects. Offensively the staff can perform a knockback that can send enemies flying, and also includes a Soul Trap effect. This attack doesn't actually do damage, but enemies can still be hurt by falling or colliding with objects. The Staff of Hasedoki's defensive ability is a constant, recharging magical shield, similar to Skyrim's Ward spell. This protection will still function even if the Staff is out of enchantment charges.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Anniversary Edition is available for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One and Series X|S.
