An avid Skyrim fan has created a GeoGuessr map based on Bethesda's game world. Exploration is one of the core components of Skyrim's gameplay, and this creation gives players a brand-new way to take part in it outside the game.

Skyrim features one of the most influential open worlds of all time, with many modern RPGs still using it as the gold standard for level of detail. With the game still being played by many players to this day, the land of Skyrim has become second nature to many gamers, to the point where some players are modding in new areas to explore. That initial feeling of exploration that gamers felt while first exploring Skyrim is a big part of the reason why the game remains so popular, as players look to recapture the magic they felt over 11 years ago when it was first released.

The GeoGuessrSkyrim map was created by Redditor TheEdenChild, who claimed that their map features over 6000 locations from the game for players to try and locate. It even supports multiplayer, so players can discover Skyrim's sights with a friend. Similar to Geoguessr, players are able to move around the map as part of the experience. This could be perfect for any player who wants to explore, without having to deal with the many dangerous animals found in Skyrim. The game can currently be played at their website, lostgamer.io.

TheEdenChild is becoming the go-to user for creating GeoGuessr maps based on game worlds. They have done plenty in the past, including a World of Warcraft Azeroth GeoGuessr map. In the thread, the user didn't reveal their future plans about what game map is coming next, although they did point out that players are able to vote on the next game by joining their Discord server. According to the website itself, there are big games in the works such as Apex Legends and Old School RuneScape.

Players can only hope that the world found in the upcoming Elder Scrolls 6 is as iconic and detailed as Skyrim's. Once the exact setting of The Elder Scrolls 6 is known, players will fully be able to begin speculating about what kind of biomes and locations the sequel will have to explore. Fans of Bethesda games have another of its titles to discover first, with the release of Starfield later this year. Its galactic setting promises to feature a level of exploration never seen before in a Bethesda game, which is a high bar for the developer to clear.

Skyrim is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
