A Skyrim player has recently used the game's character creator to make an avatar that looks like Kratos from God of War. Kratos is one of the most formidable protagonists in gaming, and so it should come as no surprise that he has been recreated in Skyrim. The character is modeled after an older version of Kratos from before 2018's God of War.

Indeed, God of War: Ragnarok has taken the look of Kratos and his equipment in a grittier direction than previous games. For that reason, seeing a more classic version of the character in Skyrim is interesting for fans of both franchises and demonstrates just how thorough the Skyrim character creator can be.

Reddit user larrygoldlemon recently posted a photo to the Skyrim subreddit that shows Kratos in The Elder Scrolls 5. The image, which shows Kratos' characteristic tattoo and beard, is a reminder of just how immersive Skyrim's open world can be. Many players have commented on the post, noting the resemblance of the character to God of War 3's version of Kratos and the cool ways in which the character creator was used to provide detail. Much like with Elden Ring's character creator, players have immense control over how their avatar looks, albeit to a lesser degree. Some players in Skyrim have become so skilled with the creator that they can forge characters from different games, as user larrygoldlemon has proven with his recent post.

Of course, character aesthetic doesn't have an impact over Skyrim's gameplay and, though the recent creation looks like Kratos, he will have to level up a lot before he reaches the God of War's characteristic strength. But it's encouraging to see that fans are still keeping the Skyrim ecosystem alive by creating cool characters, replaying epic quests, and making impressive mods for The Elder Scrolls 5.

Though Skyrim is more than a decade old, there are still many fans who keep the game alive purely because of their passion for the title. As The Elder Scrolls Online continues to release new content, and as fans wait patiently for news about The Elder Scrolls 6, it is comforting to know that the widely-praised features of Skyrim are still fun and popular. Until the next installment in the Elder Scrolls franchise arrives, players will be able to keep sharing creations in the title that has provided endless entertainment to fans for years now.

Skyrim is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
