At this point in time, Bethesda's fantasy-RPG The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim does not want for mods, yet the community persists in making even more compelling creations for the title well after its initial release back in 2011. Now, one modder and fan of DC Comics' Caped Crusader decided that the realm of Tamriel should get the hero it deserves, but not the hero it needs right now, by making a mod that adds Batman into the game.

Thanks to TuffMcKagan_and_Doc117's The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim mod known as "The Batman in Skyrim," fans can don the cowl of the Dark Knight with the project adding a new player home called Vaynius Manor – that is, a version of Wayne Manor – a new race representative of the skills of the World's Greatest Detective, a standalone set of unique Batsuit armor, a new enemy, a new NPC in the form of Alfred Pennyworth, several new lore-friendly spells, and even a Bat-Horse.

When it comes to Vaynius Manor, Skyrim players will not only have a home that is comparable in size to the expansive Goldenglow Estate, but also one will gain access to the Batcave, which will be an underground cave system of Vaynius Manor converted into a base of operations that's outfitted with many materials suitable for Batman. As far as its contents are concerned, the modders have teased that "you'll just have [it] to see for yourself" in order to find out what's inside.

While being able to take on the role of Batman in Skyrim is undoubtedly an exciting prospect, perhaps the even more intriguing aspect of TuffMcKagan_and_Doc117's mod is the new enemy that will literally be rampaging in Markarth. If the baddie's description of "a man of impossible frame . . . wearing a Luchador mask" is any indication of which villain from the Dark Knight canon is running amok in the fantasy-RPG, it's likely Bane.

Taking all of this into account, it will be interesting to see how well "The Batman in Skyrim" mod is received, especially since the game is already flooded with crossover fan creations like the Bloodborne mod. Of course, considering the overwhelming popularity of the DC hero, it's safe to say that many will want to strike fear in the hearts of their enemies as the Batman in Skyrim.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is available now for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
