Skull and Bones: All Factions (& Where To Find Them)

Ubisoft's Skull & Bones has a few factions spread across its seas, and they all can be found in specific areas of the open-world map.

Armor can give players a defensive edge while taking on enemy ships and sea creatures. It helps protect the ship and its crew and applies perks and buffs. From early game to the rarest, the following examples represent the best armor in Skull and Bones.

5 La Forteresse I

Uncommon Hull Armor, Lvl. 160

Skull and Bones La Forteresse Armor
  • Armor: 460
  • Flooding 26%

La Forteresse I is early-game armor. It is described as reliable armor against the sea due to its protection against Flooding damage. Stormy weather increases the chance of players encountering Rogue Waves and rough waters when traveling far across the sea; La Fortersse provides extra defense against storms. Players will also get some protection against Piercing damage. This combination is handy in certain situations, such as fighting sea creatures and apex predators whose attacks will quickly tear through and sink a ship if not careful.

La Forteresse's blueprint can be bought at Infamy rank Freebooter from the Corrupt Compagnie Officer in Kaa Mangrove along the Coast of Africa. The following materials are required to craft it:

  • 4 Nickel Ingot
  • 4 Fine Sisal
  • 4 Teak Plank
  • 460 Silver

4 The Bastion II

Uncommon Hull Armor, Lvl. 250

Skull and Bones The Bastion II Armor
  • Armor: 750
  • Fire: 23%
  • Piercing 23%

The Bastion II is a good choice for general sailing and equally mitigates Piercing and Fire damage. Players will start to take on more dangerous foes as their infamy rank increases, and not having armor equipped is a gamble. Aggressive NPCs like Rogues and Privateers commonly have ships level 6 or higher, and Rogues are also partial to using Burners, which will give ships the Ablaze status effect. The Bastion II's Fire protection makes it a good choice when taking on Supply Orders for The Helm since Rogues are practically unavoidable.

The Bastion II blueprint can be bought at Infamy rank Brigand from the Overseas Smuggler in The Lost City of Prei in the East Indies. The following materials are required to craft it:

  • 4 Fine Ramie
  • 4 Steel Ingot
  • 2 Shellac
  • 2 Crude Saltpeter
  • 910 Silver

3 Kawaca II

Rare Hull Armor, Lvl. 380

Skull and Bones Kawaca II Armor
  • Armor: 1050
  • Flooding: 30%
  • Fire: 30%
  • Piercing: 30%

Kawaca II is a late-game hull armor players can only get if they discover The Helm and earn Helm Coins, aka Pieces of Eight. The only way to get Pieces of Eight is to finish Supply Orders for The Helm. The Kawaca II protects against Flooding, Piercing, and Fire damage. It also has the Rampart perk, which reduces damage from ramming by 75%. Ramming is a common tactic used by enemy ships, but bracing and having good armor equipped causes it to backfire on them quickly and often causes more damage than it would deal.

The Kawaca II blueprint can be bought for 2800 Pieces of Eight at Infamy rank Kingpin at the Pirate Den's Sainte-Anne and Telok Penjarah. The following materials are required to craft it:

  • 6 Cogwheel
  • 8 Greenheart Plank
  • 6 Screw Mechanism
  • 2 Rubber
  • 1 Eel's Twine
  • 3800 Silver

2 Black Prince

Epic Hull Armor, Lvl. 400

Skull and Bones Black Prince Armor
  • Armor: 1200
  • Explosive: 35%
  • Fire: 18%
  • Piercing: 20%

Black Prince is one of the best hull armors in Skull and Bones. It has protection against Ablaze, Piercing, and Explosive damage, making it well-rounded. Players can also rely on it to boost their ship's HP level through its perk, Resolute. Resolute kicks in when a ship has 33% health or less and reduces damage by 50%. They will be able to withstand more hits when taking on warships and Plundering settlements and forts.

Black Prince can be bought for 450 Sovereigns at Infamy rank Kingpin from the Black Market in Sainte-Anne and Telok Penjarah. Sovereigns are earned by completing missions with Pieces of Eight as their reward and increasing one's Helm Score. Players can track their Sovereigns from the leaderboard inside the Helm Office.

1 Ouroboros

Epic Hull Armor, Lvl. 400

Skull and Bones Ouroboros Armor
  • Armor: 1100
  • Explosive: 20%
  • Flooding: 30%
  • Fire: 30%

Ouroboros is an endgame armor that protects ships from Explosive, Flooding, and Ablaze damage. Ouroboros is the only armor with two perks; both are healing-focused. Its first perk is Amalgamate, which restores 15% of Hull health while bracing. Ouroboros' second perk is Restoration. Restoration restores 100 Severe Damage per second. These perks make it the best armor for healing and support ships.

The Ouroboros blueprint can be bought for 50 Monstrous Teeth at Infamy rank Kingpin from the Sea People Huntmaster in Lanitra Outpost. Monstrous Teeth must be harvested from the sea monster Kuharibu. Kuharibu is a fierce foe, so teaming up with others makes the fight much easier. The sea monster respawns after a certain time so that players can get more materials from it. The following materials are required to craft it:

  • 4 Monstrous Scales
  • 4 Monstrous Tooth
  • 2 Rubber
  • 1 Torsion Spring
  • 1 Gannets' Saltpeter
  • 3800 Silver
