Like most other modern video games, Skull and Bones rewards those who pre-order with a few special in-game items. In addition to these pre-order bonuses, players can also get their hands on a bunch of other great rewards by purchasing the premium edition of the game, which, among other things, comes bundled with cosmetics, extra missions, and three days of early access.

Skull and Bones: Burning Questions, Answered (Multiplayer, Crossplay, & More)

Skull and Bones is set to release this month, and players may have questions before committing to buying it. They can find answers here in this FAQ.

Unfortunately, however, none of Skull and Bones' premium edition or pre-order bonuses will be available right away, with players first having to successfully navigate the game's tutorial section before they can think about getting their hands on them. Even then, there are a few extra steps involved when it comes to actually acquiring and making use of these items, which could confuse some players.

How to Get Skull & Bones Pre-Order and Premium Edition Bonuses

In order to claim premium edition and pre-order bonuses, Skull and Bones players will need to visit the mailbox at any pirate den. The first chance that they'll get to do this will come in Saint-Anne, which becomes available after completing the tutorial section of the game. This is also where players can claim Ubisoft Connect rewards, with the Golden Sails, Good Start, and Land Ho! rewards all available for free right from the get-go. Unfortunately, however, even after claiming their cosmetic items, players may not be able to use them right away depending on where they are in the main story.

How to Equip Premium Edition Cosmetics in Skull and Bones

Most of the premium edition bonuses for Skull and Bones are cosmetic items with which players can customize the appearance of the playable character. To do so, they'll need to visit a clothing store, the first of which is the Vanity Atelier in Saint-Anne. For whatever reason, though, players will be told to come back later if they try to speak with the proprietor of the store immediately after arriving on the island. To get around this, they'll have to progress the main story until the point where they speak with Scurlock for the first time. After that, they can return to the Vanity Atelier and customize the appearance of their Skull and Bones character by equipping some of their premium edition cosmetics.
