Skull and Bones is an open-world multiplayer game, so playing with others is always an option. Teaming up can make taking on multiple enemies much easier, and everyone gets a bounty. This guide explains how Skull and Bones players can group up with friends or other players on the server.

How to Play With Friends in Skull and Bones

Players have a couple of options for using the multiplayer features in Skull and Bones. They can play with friends or join forces with random players on the same server. Before getting started, players should check their cross-play and multiplayer settings.

Cross-play can be turned on and off from the settings menu under the Accessibility tab. It must be set to "On" if players want to join lobbies with players on different platforms. Next, open the Social Tab and look at the Privacy Options. They can be set to the following:

Invite Only
Open
Friends Only

If it's set to "Invite Only," players can request to group up with each other in the world. "Open" allows any player to join another's lobby automatically. Lobbies in Skull and Bones can be groups of up to three people and can be set up at any time using the Social tab or in the world.

The Social tab includes group information, a list of online friends, and pending requests. Additionally, any players you've interacted with recently on a server will appear under the world tab and can be added as friends. A "Find Group" option also searches for nearby groups set to "Open."

If friends are playing on the same platform, they can be added using the Social tab. Otherwise, players must use their Ubisoft account to add others on a different platform. Once added, group invites can be sent quickly.

If there are issues connecting to a server, sending a group invite while already in world helps.

Players can recruit their fellow pirates by sending them a group invite. Certain situations, like Plundering and Legendaries, also allow them to use the "Call For Help" option, which alerts nearby players that they need assistance. While in a lobby, players can travel together, completing missions or going off on their own adventures and tasks.

Skull and Bones is an action-adventure title developed by Ubisoft with a heavy focus on piracy and naval combat. Set in an open-world environment inspired by locations in the Indian Ocean, players take control of a customizable pirate captain and ship and undertake missions to collect treasure and raise in rank. Players rely on ship combat with cannons, mortars, and rockets to defeat both NPCs and other player ships.
