Many fans have excitedly anticipated the launch of Skater XL, a game that brings real life skating spots and community created skating maps alike to PC and consoles such as PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Along with the game come achievements that players can pursue as they glide through the game to show off their skills, but one achievement may be asking too much from players who want to collect them all.

Skater XL is the latest in recent official releases and announcements centered around the popular boarding sport. With popular skating games such as Skate 4 coming out of EA, there is a revival in this genre of games. Easy Day Studios, the developer behind this game, first released Skater XL on Steam's early access in 2018, but the game officially released on July 28 after much excitement from players.

One thing that fans discovered upon the game's release were the achievements that came with it. To take their skating skills to the next level, players can try their hands at special challenges. However, one of these challenges will take gamers much longer than an average achievement if they want to complete it. The Skater XL achievement, called "Around the World," can be obtained when the player travels the exact distance around the circumference on their board while they play the game. To do this, players have to skate for 40,000 in-game kilometers, which would take them around 2,700 hours of real time to travel the virtual distance.

Gamers are irritated by the amount of time they will have to spend on this one achievement. One gamer decided to wrap an elastic band around their controller to constantly push on the X button, allowing the player to keep skating down a ramp instead of having to manual control the character. However, even with this method, the achievement still takes 46 days to complete. Players have confirmed that the Skater XL distance tracker goes up about one percent every 12 to 15 hours when they use this strategy, but they will have to devote a lot of time to the game if they want to unlock this achievement. Easy Day Studios has not commented publicly on this achievement at the time this is being written.

While this achievement may be difficult for gamers who want to hundred percent the game, there are many positive aspects to the game that players are excited about. Easy Day Studio also released a brand new Skater XL map with the official release that is designed to break barriers of what's possible on a skateboard.

Skater XL is now available for the PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and is coming soon to the Nintendo Switch.
