The Sims 4 is getting a new expansion pack, and it's all about ranch life and raising horses. The Sims 4's base game was released back in 2014, and since then, dozens of DLC packs have come out to complement it. Expansion packs, game packs, stuff packs, and kits all expand on various subjects, some of them more niche than others. At this point, there is such a wide variety of packs that it's nearly a guarantee that there will be something that will suit just about any type of fan.

Even though there's been nearly a decade of expansions for The Sims 4, the community isn't done with the game just yet, and there are still several recurring requests. Many gamers believe that Generations was one of the best packs for The Sims 3; players that enjoy legacy gameplay asked for it countless times. Early this year, the Growing Together expansion pack was finally released, and many of its features attempted to deepen family gameplay just as requested.

Another highly requested pack is on the horizon; the Horse Ranch expansion pack is here, and fans that have been waiting for horses to come to The Sims 4 can rest at last. The pack's trailer was released on June 22, and on the same day, The Sims Team published a detailed blog post that mentioned several of the features that players can expect to see in Horse Ranch. Even though this DLC will have a particular focus on horses, players can expect many other aspects of ranch life to be included, such as goats, sheep, barbecues, cowboy hats (and tiny horse cowboy hats), line dancing, nectar, farmhouses, horse training, breeding, and much more. Gamers will be able to play the Horse Ranch expansion pack on July 20, 2023.

Fans will also be happy to know that The Sims is finally including Native American representation in this pack. The developers have worked with a cultural consultant to bring Indigenous culture to The Sims 4, and gamers can expect to see traditional foods, furniture, and clothing.

With another wanted pack checked off the list, fairies still remain one of the most wished-for packs. There are all sorts of occult creatures in The Sims 4; gamers can play as aliens, vampires, werewolves, spellcasters, mermaids, and ghosts, but fairies have yet to be put in The Sims 4, despite many fans in the community requesting their addition for years now. Hopefully, they will still be put in the game before the team completely moves on to the next entry in The Sims series.

The Sims 4 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
