As one of the games without a clear linear narrative, it's possible to spend months or even years playing The Sims 4. The players build their own story, taking their pick from many jobs, aspirations, and approaches to enrich the lives of their Sims. However, in case the game gets boring for the player, they can spice things up by doing a challenge.
There are dozens of The Sims 4 challenges available online but one of the more popular ones is the Not So Berry Challenge, created by Sims Youtubers lilsimsie and alwaysimming. Completing this challenge can in itself be challenging but luckily, there are multiple ways how to do it.
7 About The Not So Berry Challenge
The Not So Berry Challenge belongs among legacy challenges. In other words, the players will be playing with the same family for multiple generations. In this case, they will spend time with a single family for ten whole generations!
Taking on the Not So Berry Challenge can be time-consuming, so it's better for experienced players who have done a Sims 4 challenge before. Beginners can always start with a shorter challenge and move to this one as they gain more experience in playing The Sims 4 and designing their characters.
6 The Basic Rules Of The Challenge
The rules of the Not So Berry Challenge are fairly simple. The player focuses on bright colors and new experiences. Each heir in the challenge represents a certain color and should have hair, eyes, make-up, clothes, and others that fit the color. The color of the spouse of the Sim doesn't matter.
The player can use money cheats but they shouldn't overdo it. The Sims family can live wherever they like. In every generation, the heir should complete both their career and their aspiration. And finally, the life span of the Sims should be set to normal, not long or short.
5 The Ten Colors
Thanks to its orientation on colors, the Not So Berry Challenge is ideal for everyone who likes to spend a lot of time designing their Sims, the way they will look, as well as the place where they live. The ten generations should have the following colors: mint, rose, yellow, grey, plum, orange, pink, peach, green, and finally blue. However, it's more complicated than that. 4 Using Custom Content

3 Use The Right Lot Traits
Just like in multiple aspects of the game, it pays out to use the right traits for the lot when playing each generation. For example, the first generation requires the Sim to complete his scientific career.
In order to do that faster, it helps to give the trait Science Lair to the lot. As a result, the Sim will become logical faster, and will also have a bigger chance of coming up with the scientific breakthroughs they need for their job.
2 Pick The Right Sims To Antagonize Or Befriend
Another way how to speed things up a little bit is to look for the right Sims to antagonize or befriend depending on each generation's requirements. Once again, in the first generation, the Sim has to finish the mischief aspiration and get some enemies that they will have no qualms making fun of.
A good strategy is to pick evil Sims who already hate people and will easily become your Sim's antagonist. For example, the old vampire Vlad who resides in Forgotten Hollow is an excellent option for this because he's evil and also antisocial, so it's almost impossible for him to get friends. Enemies, on the other hand, he gains easily.
1 Use Cheats
The best scenario is to avoid cheats to make the Not So Berry Challenge even more challenging. However, in some cases, the cheats aren't optional, but almost necessary. For example, the sixth generation (orange) requires the Sim to have only two children - who have to be twins!
That can be difficult to achieve so using cheats might be necessary in this case. Of course, it's always possible to choose the "On The Ley Line" lot trait and hope for the best, but only cheats are 100 percent reliable in this case.
