  • The Sims 4's Lovestruck expansion pack focuses on romantic connections, releasing July 25, 2024.

  • Chemistry mechanic returns, measuring attraction between Sims.

The Sims 4's next expansion pack will focus on compatibility between lovers and romantic connections, and those who get the pack in its early days will get access to unique freebies. The Sims 4 has come a long way since the base game launched nearly a decade ago. The game has been improved significantly thanks to the numerous DLC packs that have been released since 2014. This matter has been the main source of discussion among the community for a long while; not only because acquiring all expansions is incredibly costly, but also due to the fact that standard content is locked behind a paywall.

Nevertheless, given that the game is nearly 10 years old and many of its developers have shifted their attention to the next title in The Sims series, a halt on the release of DLC packs has been expected among Sims 4 fans. However, that is not the case, and it seems that The Sims 4 is getting yet another expansion pack.

Latest The Sims 4 Update Hints at Plans for Project Rene

The Sims 4 has added login rewards, and with Project Rene in the works, it seems likely that this feature will be here to stay.

Fans are in for a treat with the Lovestruck expansion pack, coming to The Sims 4 July 25, 2024. The reveal trailer for The Sims 4 Lovestruck premiered on June 27, leaving those who watched it right away eager for content that wouldn't be available for another four weeks. Gamers who want to get the upcoming love pack within its first weeks will get access to the Heartbreak Happens Digital Content pack, which consists of three exclusive items for Create-a-Sim and Build Mode.

Heartbreak Happens Digital Content Items

  • Cry Me a River Eyeliner (CAS)
  • Herbert Heart Plushie (Build Mode)
  • Basic Breakup Double Bed (Build Mode)

Several new activities and items were shown off in the reveal trailer, but what stood out the most for many was the fact that one veteran feature is being brought back to The Sims 4: the chemistry mechanic. Turn-ons and turn-offs have been highly requested by Sims 2 fans for years, so gamers will be happy to know that they will once again be able to measure the attraction between two Sims by analyzing their likes and dislikes when it comes to partners.

It also seems that tons of Woohoo spots are being added to the game. On top of this, the trailer shows off a new death in The Sims 4, and it appears to be related to heartbreak and disappointment. This might be related to the importance given to breakup blues in the Heartbreak Happens Digital Content pack.
