The Sims 4: High School Years adds many new fun gameplay features for teen Sims. Players can dive into the American high school experience by joining the cheer team, participating in Career Day, and attending Prom. Prom is a playable event similar to parties and weddings and every teen gets the opportunity to go. Here is a complete guide to Prom in The Sims 4: High School Years.

To trigger the Prom gameplay, at least one teen Sim must be in the player's household, so if this is not the case, they should either create and completely customize a teen or age-up a child Sim to achieve this. It should be noted that a Young Adult, Adult, or Elder must also be present in the household because teens can not live by themselves. Once a family has a teen, Prom automatically shows up as an event on the calendar, and players will get a notification explaining the event in more detail.

How to Get a Prom Date

Players can attend class with their teen sims to meet new friends, develop crushes, or even make enemies. So, while Sims can go to Prom alone, they do have the option to take a date. Sims can be Prom dates as friends or romantic interests. Getting a prom date can happen in a few ways:

• Use the "Prom-posal" interaction on another teen Sim
• Click on a teen sim and invite them
• Leave a note in a teen Sim's locker asking them to Prom
• Accept an invitation to Prom from another teen Sim

After getting a prom date, players can review this decision by clicking on their date and choosing the Open Sim Profile option.

How to Go to Prom

Prom takes place every Saturday at 7:00 PM. Players can utilize the formal wear that comes in the pack to make sure their Sims look stunning and ready for the event. Teen Sims can be invited to pre-prom get-togethers as well. Whenever it is time for Prom, players will receive a notification asking if they would like to attend or skip the dance. Prom is a goaled event, so they should keep an eye on the tasks in the screen's top left-hand corner to get gold and have a successful evening.

Once Sims arrive at Prom, they can enjoy the festivities in a few different ways by slow dancing with their date, showing off their outfits, voting for prom royalty, and grabbing fruit punch. There is also a photo booth to capture fun memories with other Sims. The Prom ends shortly after the prom royalty is announced. Still, Sims are usually invited to an after-party at the carnival grounds, so the party doesn't have to end immediately.
