The Growing Together Sims 4 expansion pack focuses, as its name indicates, on the experiences that Sims have throughout their lives as they grow up amongst their family members and best friends. Childhood has a big influence on how Sims grow up and with the new aspirations added with the pack, children get to explore a wider range of activities and skills before they're nudged to choose one they like the most and would perhaps prefer to pursue in adulthood.
This will list all four of the aspirations in The Sims 4 and give players useful tips on how they can complete them in order to gain access to child-exclusive reward traits that'll help them throughout the rest of their lives.
New Multi-Skill Childhood Aspirations
Before the release of the Growing Together expansion pack, children could only choose between four childhood aspirations: Artistic Prodigy, Rambunctious Scramp, Social Butterfly, and Whiz Kid; each of one of these aspirations focused on only one skill: the Creative, Motor, Social, and Mental skills respectively. However, this would force kids to choose an interest at a young age and not allow them to try a bit of everything.
Of course, these aspirations will remain available for children that already have a set hobby or interest that the player would like them to follow either during high school, university or when they head into a career straight out of teenagehood. But those that want to explore their options can now choose an aspiration from the Multi-Skill aspiration category. And, since all four of them are intertwined, players can easily get their Sim to complete more than one - especially when playing on Normal or Long lifespan.
Slumber Party Animal Aspiration
The Slumber Party Animal aspiration is a socially inclined aspiration that focuses on hosting the perfect sleepover, using creativity to tell the best stories possible, and bonding with at least one person in order to exchange friendship bracelets with them. A Sim that chooses to complete this aspiration will develop both their Social and Creativity skills.
Slumber Party Animal Milestones | Tasks |
---|---|
Pajama Wearer |
|
Storyteller |
|
Host with the Most |
|
After completing all the Slumber Party Animal milestones, the Sim will officially finish the aspiration. For doing so, they will receive the Practice Host reward trait, which turns them into a great social event host, meaning that their friendly and funny interactions will never fail during parties. This makes parties significantly more important throughout a Sim's life. For example, if they pursue the Politician Career with the City Living pack, it will make it much easier for them to collect donations.
Mind And Body Aspiration
The Mind and Body aspiration will lean Sims toward the Mental and Motor skills. Throughout its three milestones, it motivates Sims 4 children to feel confident with themselves by having them learn how to ride a bike, gain Confident Moodlets, and avoid negative Needs.
Mind and Body Milestones | Tasks |
---|---|
Confident Kiddo |
|
Super Bike Tyke |
|
Master of Control |
|
A Sim will receive the Headstrong reward trait for completing the Mind and Body aspiration. With this trait, the Focused and Confident Moodlets will last longer. Being focused in The Sims 4 can be quite handy, especially for the Sim's teenage and adult years as it'll allow them to complete homework faster and study much more efficiently. Confidence can also help them complete tasks and make requests without failing.
Playtime Captain Aspiration
The Playtime Captain will focus on exercising a Sim's Motor and Social Skills. It does so by having them socialize and become friends with other Sims their age, and by having them do fun physical activities such as playing on the Splash Pad and riding a bike.
Playtime Captain Milestones | Tasks |
---|---|
Silly Stomper |
|
Talky-Talker |
|
Playground Royalty |
|
Completing the Playtime Captain aspiration awards Sims with the Pack Animal reward Trait. With this trait activated, whenever a Sim is out training with friends nearby, they'll gain relationship and skill much faster.
Creative Genius Aspiration
The Creative Genius aspiration will help a Sim develop their Creativity and Mental skill as they become a creative visionary. They will have to get a treehouse from the Build-and-Buy mode and build it with an adult household member. On it, they can play pretend, rest, and look up at the stars to contemplate.
Creative Genius Milestones | Tasks |
---|---|
Gifted Fledgling |
|
Inspired Visionary |
|
Best-in-Class |
|
By practicing these abilities in their childhood, Sims that complete the Creative Genius aspiration will receive the Idea Person reward trait, meaning that they won't suffer as much writer's block in the future, and they will be much faster when writing, either songs or books, programming, and painting.
Aspirations' Difficulty Level
The Multi-Task aspirations feel slightly easier compared to the Base Game aspirations. They are less repetitive and add more variety to a Sim's life, as it will demand different gameplay styles. When attempting to complete a Multi-Task aspiration, the Sim won't be doing the same activity five or ten times in order to finish the required task. They won't have to get to Level 10 of any skill, they only have to get about halfway through the skill. This versatility means that the Sim won't have to dedicate their entire childhood to a single skill, they can focus on other chores and duties without feeling like they're not making any progress towards their goal.
On top of all of this, since many of the skills coincide between different aspirations, if a Sim decides to change their aspiration halfway through or start something new after completing another one, it's likely that they've already made some progress towards the required skills.
The Sims 4 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S.
