A gamer has shown off a terrifying Sims 4 glitch that makes children look like something from a horror movie. Although The Sims 4 allows gamers to play however they want, this particular issue is definitely not part of Maxis' intended experience for players of the game.

Over the years, The Sims 4 has delivered some truly horrifying glitches to the gaming community. While the cartoony graphics are perfect for the tone of the game, there's something truly unsettling whenever something goes wrong with them. With the game receiving a constant stream of content through various DLC packs, Maxis occasionally introduces terrifying new bugs into the game, as the developer sometimes doesn't manage to catch all of them pre-release. As long as The Sims 4 continues to dominate the life-simulator space, gamers will occasionally have new glitches like this pop up.

The post by Redditor Specialist-Layer9723 is truly terrifying, showing the child in The Sims 4, with their head elongated from their body, and their eyes completely missing. It's genuinely haunting to see, with absolutely no explanation as to how the glitch has occurred. The recent release of The Sims 4 Growing Together DLC pack hasn't been completely smooth for developer Maxis, with many players reporting strange bugs involving the newly-added children. This post in particular highlights that the pack clearly has some way to go before being fully polished for release.

Players in the thread didn't have many helpful solutions about the glitch, and the most common suggestion was to "get an exorcism." The main genuine possibility that came up was a potentially outdated mod, although the original poster hadn't managed to identify the culprit if this was the case. The Sims 4 has plenty of great mods for infant gameplay, but whatever has happened here has clearly had the complete opposite effect. While modding is great, it can definitely get complex for less experienced gamers.

Fans will be hoping that toddlers are part of the base game when more details arise about The Sims Project Rene. Unfortunately, it's become a key part of the business model in The Sims games to hold back features from previous games, in order to sell them back in a later pack. While it has happened again with The Sims 4 Growing Together, it would be a shame for something as essential as toddlers to a life-simulator to be excluded, or at the very least incomplete, for business purposes.

The Sims 4 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
