Kits were a controversial addition to The Sims 4 when they were first introduced to the community. They have been around for a few months, and some players still aren't fond of them, but they do add unique features to the game that couldn't be achieved otherwise.

Since kits offer smaller amounts of content for a lower price, they can add much more niche items and features to the game. This guide will talk about the new Basement Treasures kit for The Sims 4 - a kit that focuses on the rarities that one might find when digging through a relative's basement.

The Basement Treasures kit went live on April 20, 2023 - just two days after it was officially announced. Although it might seem like a strange addition to the game, it's actually the perfect kit to complement the recent Growing Together expansion pack that was released just the month before.

The Growing Together expansion pack focuses on the various stages of life, and it truly adds depth to all of them. Elders were the life stage that particularly needed some love from the developers, and they got some attention with the Keepsafe Box - a small storage box for them to safely keep their most precious belongings and with which to entrust another family member.

The Basement Treasures kit fits in right with this vibe. The items included in the pack look just like something an elderly Sim would put in their basement a couple of years back. Now they're there to be discovered by a younger generation ready to find hidden treasures among the dusty surroundings.

Trophies, broken picture frames, old records, dusty mirrors, and retro TVs are just some of the various Build Mode items that come with the Basement Treasures kit. Players that get this kit can look forward to 26 items, most of them vintage treasures, ready to make a perfect basement or a yard sale outside on the lawn.

This is one of the most unique kits released so far in The Sims 4, and it can help players get the feeling of home when creating a house for an elderly Sim.

The Sims 4 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
