In The Sims 2, players are able to unlock new items after they reach a certain level in their career. With how addicting the games can be, players of The Sims 2 most likely have unlocked every career reward in the game. This also means the players have most likely discovered what career rewards are the best and which are not.

Despite some career rewards not offering much to the player, they can be used to create a certain theme to a lot. Likewise, some of the career rewards unlocked are useful just for the entertainment they can give to the player.

10 Worst - Golden Skull of Jumbok IV

The skull of Jumbok IV in a Sim's house

It is cool to see the ancient history of The Sims' world. Getting to level 6 of the 'Adventurer' career will reward players with a golden statue of an ancient king, named Jumbok IV. This reward will only boost a Sim's motives when they are nearby, something a player might not notice.

By reading the description of the item, players can learn that the item is the actual skull of Jumbok IV. As if there weren't enough weird things in The Sims already.

9 Best - Tribal Flame a la Coconut Pinball

The pinball machine is unlocked when players reach level 5 of the 'Gamer' career. Sims will gain §5 every 5 in-game minutes when they use this machine. The Sim will stop playing it after their fun meter is full, meaning players cannot use their Sim to make nonstop money.

Players can put the machine on one of their community lots and have visitors make them the nonstop money instead! There is also the chance to gain more of the machines, meaning players can make even more money with an arcade. Now it's starting to sound like a scheme made by Call Me Kevin.

8 Worst - "Starstruck" Personal Fame Stars

A Sim laying on their star

Nothing like having a personal star to remind the entire neighborhood a Sim is famous. Reaching level 5 in the 'Entertainment' career field will unlock this star for a Sim to decorate their lot with. The only benefit the star truly gives is a slight boost to the social motive.

Players can still get some use out of the star, at least. Players can put a couple of the stars on a community lot, making their own version of the Walk of Fame.

7 Best - SIM series Drafting Table

Players are able to use the drafting table to make blueprints of items in the game or drawings of a Sim's surroundings. Players unlock the reward at level 6 of the 'Architecture' career. The technical drawings Sims can make include UFOs, pianos, or the weather machine.

These drawings can also be hung up on the wall and framed. Players who want their Sim to be an architect can hang up drawings of house blueprints in an office.

6 Worst - The Gootentaugen Award for Excellence in Journalism

A journalism award on a Sim's computer desk

Sims who get to level 6 in the 'Journalism' career will unlock this reward. It is a journalism award, given to the Sim 'who demonstrates an excellent gift with the written word'. The benefit for this reward is a small motive boost for all Sims in the room.

The boost makes sense, as who doesn't love to see an award for their hard work. It just would have been nice to be able to win a few more awards in the 'Journalism' career.

5 Best - Laganaphyllis Simnovorii

A Sim about to feed the cowplant

The Laganaphyllis Simnovorii -- more commonly known as the Cow Plant -- is rewarded to the player for reaching level 6 of the 'Natural Scientist' career. Players can also only join this career by graduating from a university. The Cow Plant can start to go hungry, meaning it needs to find something to eat.

The Cow Plant will stick out a piece of cake, baiting Sims to take it. Doing this will cause the Sim to be eaten, letting another Sim drink their 'life essence'. This will add 5 days to a Sim's life, allowing them to live longer.

4 Worst - Exerto Selfflog Obstacle Course

A Sim running the military obstacle course

Players will unlock the obstacle course when they reach level 4 in the 'Military' career. The obstacle course allows Sims to gain the athletic skill faster. One downside to this reward is that Sims will not lose weight or gain muscle as fast as other exercises.

The obstacle course can also be used by two Sims at a time, meaning it can benefit two Sims at once. With these career rewards, players can make a military base in one of their neighborhoods.

3 Best - Resurrect-O-Nomitron

Resurrect-O-Nomitron being used to revive a loved one

Players who make it to level 5 in the 'Paranormal' career field will be rewarded with this unique phone. The phone can be used to call the Grim Reaper and revive a Sim or a pet. Depending on how much a Sim pays the Grim Reaper, a couple of outcomes can occur.

Paying less than §987 will cause the Grim Reaper to take the player's money and do nothing, paying between §988 and §4127 will have the Sim be revived as a zombie, between §4128 and §8512 will change the revived Sim a bit, and paying §8513 to §10,000 will result in a perfect Sim.

2 Worst - Audio Augmenter Earpiece by Little Mole Inc.

A Sim using the spy device to listen in to others

Players can unlock this listening device at level 5 in the 'Intelligence' career. Using this device can give players a bit of money, saying the player overheard stock tips or something similar. If the Sim using the device is caught, a Sim will run up and shove the user. Either way, players can pretend their Sim is a detective and listen in on the neighborhood.

1 Best - Books First for Learning- A Bookshelf of Education

The bookcase reward for the education career track

Sims who reach level 5 in the 'Education' career will unlock this bookcase. Uniquely, Sims can study all skills at this bookcase instead of the usual cooking, cleaning, and mechanical. Sims will also gain the skills 500% faster than a normal bookcase.

Children can use this bookcase to gain skills faster, allowing them to earn scholarships for college. It also benefits any other Sim in the household, allowing other Sims to gain skills for their careers.
