Almost a decade has passed since Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost worked together on 2013's The World's End, the final film in Wright's Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy. While it seems unlikely that another film would be in development anytime soon due to their busy schedules, the trio could soon be reuniting, as Pegg has hinted at the possibility of making another film with Wright.

Named after a joking reference to Cornetto ice cream cones, Wright's Cornetto trilogy, which began back in 2004 with Shaun of the Dead followed by Hot Fuzz in 2007, garnered widespread critical acclaim and cemented the trio as three names for Hollywood to look out for. Now doing their own things as of late, it appears the fans may just get another comedic movie from the team some time down the road.

Speaking with ComicBook.com about his new Ice Age spin-off, The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild, Pegg touched on the possibility of reuniting with Frost and Wright for another wildly entering adventure. "With Edgar and I, we have to just get our schedules in order so that we can write together again," Pegg shared. "We're talking about stuff, there's been ideas thrown around and we're circling something. But obviously he's really busy, I'm really busy. It's not like the old days when we were just trying to get seen and we had all that time. Now things are a little more complicated. But there's room in my heart for all that stuff and I obviously want to work with Edgar and Nick again because they're my mates and it means we get to hang out more."

In a time filled with countless blockbusters and reboots, it seems like it's original storytelling moviegoers need now more than ever. While Pegg and Frost worked on Amazon's comedy horror series Truth Seekers in 2020, the three have found great success on their own. For Pegg, he would continue working with big franchises like Star Trek and Mission: Impossible (as Mission: Impossible 7 & 8 are set to release in 2023 and 2024) while also making brief appearances in other blockbusters like Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Ready Player One. Frost starred in The Huntsman: Winter's War and Tomb Raider while appearing in other critically acclaimed smaller budget projects like Fighting with My Family.

And as for Wright, he would continue making a name for himself in Hollywood co-writing Marvel Studios' Ant-Man and directing critically acclaimed films like Baby Driver and Last Night in Soho. Wright's work helming The Sparks Brothers documentary last year was also met with rave reviews, as the film could now be a big frontrunner at this year's upcoming awards season.

While it's unclear when Pegg, Frost, and Wright would get back together, if they did, they would no doubt have something truly hilarious and memorable in store for fans.

Fans can catch Pegg's work in The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild now on Disney Plus.
