Multiple Silent Hill projects including a new movie, a remake of Silent Hill 2, and entirely new title have leaked ahead of the Silent Hill Transmission stream. For years fans have awaited the return of Konami's beloved survival horror franchise since the cancelation of Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro's Silent Hills. After much speculation, Konami has finally returned with some new titles in the series, three of which have leaked ahead of the planned showcase later today.

With the cancelation of Silent Hills in 2015 and Hideo Kojima's subsequent departure from Konami following the release of Metal Gear Solid 5, many had assumed the Silent Hill franchise would have no future, especially after the IP had been used to promote pachinko gambling machines. Many rumors have appeared in recent years, from the wild theories surrounding Blue Box Games' Abandoned, to speculation following the series' appearance in Dead by Daylight. Earlier this year however, images of an alleged new Silent Hill game appeared that featured artwork said to have been created by Silent Hill 2 art director Masahiro Ito. This artwork was later removed by Konami, lending credibility to its legitimacy.

Earlier this week, Konami announced Silent Hill Transmission, a showcase dedicated to the Silent Hill franchise set to air later today. As the YouTube premiere stream went live, fans immediately noticed that one of the games planned to be revealed in the showcase was listed in the video description, the game is titled "Silent Hill 2". Digging further into the video's metadata reveals the titles Return to Silent Hill (the confirmed title of the next Silent Hill movie from Christophe Gans), and Silent Hill: Ascension, which is speculated to be the next main series entry.

These details line up specifically with what reporters such as Giant Bomb's Jeff Grubb have stated in recent months. Grubb claimed that Bloober Team is working on a Silent Hill 2 remake, following its work on 2021's The Medium, and that there are multiple titles in the series in development, including a possible anthology style title from indie publisher Annapurna Interactive.

Even with the titles for these projects having leaked, there is still plenty to speculate on going into the showcase later today. Especially since the alleged runtime of the showcase is 48 minutes, making it a surprisingly substantial presentation. A P.T. style teaser demo is also expected to release following the showcase, given the recent Korean ratings board listing of a game titled Silent Hill: The Short Message.
