Although the days of E3 are no more, the time of year is approaching when major publishers are gearing up to showcase what games are in production from their studios, and recent rumors suggest that a new PlayStation event is being planned for May. Sony has yet to confirm this event, but it would fall in line with their showcase plans from previous years, and this year's event's headliner is said to be the highly anticipated Silent Hill 2 remake. Aside from Silent Hill 2, there are a handful of other titles that are rumored to be shown at this event that players should keep an eye out for.

Sony has recently announced that no entries in their major series will be released before April 2025, leaving the next year of first-party PlayStation releases up in the air. In addition to several rumored games, there is the possibility that the leaked PS5 Pro will be officially revealed at this event as well. With this in mind, the rumored May PlayStation event could end up being huge for Sony as it could potentially reveal some interesting projects in the works along with how they will perform on the improved hardware of the PS5 Pro.

All Games Rumored to Appear at PlayStation's May Event

Silent Hill 2 Remake

The game that seems the most likely to appear at next month's rumored PlayStation event is the Silent Hill 2 remake being developed by Bloober Team. Recent leaked promotional material from GameStop and an ESRB rating for Silent Hill 2 appearing online suggest the game is approaching release, which lines up with statements made by reputable insider Jeff Grubb on the Giant Bombcast that the release date will be announced for Silent Hill 2 at this event in May.

Ghost of Tsushima 2

While the game hasn't been confirmed to be in development, the success of Sucker Punch's 2020 hit Ghost of Tsushima could mean a sequel is on its way. According to leaker Silknigth, Ghost of Tsushima 2 is set to be revealed in the coming months, potentially putting it in a prime position to be announced at May's PlayStation event. While it likely won't be released before April 2025, it would still be exciting to see what Sucker Punch has in store for this follow-up.

Concord

Originally announced at the PlayStation Showcase 2023 last May, Concord is a PvP multiplayer FPS from developer Firewalk Studios that could be another title shown at the rumored May PlayStation Showcase. The game was originally given a 2024 release window when it was first announced but has seen few details since, potentially teeing it up for a grand re-reveal at this year's PlayStation Showcase.

Bungie's Marathon

Another game that appeared at last year's PlayStation Showcase with scarce information since is Bungie's upcoming title Marathon. This sci-fi extraction shooter from the developer of Destiny 2 is set to be another major title for Sony, making the rumored May showcase the perfect time to show off this game.

Horizon Multiplayer Game

Coming off the heels of the success of Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West, Guerrilla Games is rumored to be working on a multiplayer, live-service game for the franchise, according to job listings. While this title hasn't been officially announced and there are few details about it available, May could finally be the time that Sony unveils this title to the world.

A New Astro Bot Game

An interesting title that is rumored to appear at this PlayStation event is a new Astro Bot game, according to the leaker known as The Snitch. While the original Astro Bot Rescue Mission was a PlayStation VR title, the PS5 launched with Astro's Playroom to showcase the DualSense's features. Perhaps Sony is preparing a full-fledged Astro Bot 3D platformer to fill the void left by classic mascot 3D platformers of the past.
