Fans of the Silent Hill series have had their eye on the prized Inu-End Coin Bank Statue for a while, and now the official price of $200 has been revealed. A model of one of Silent Hill's more bizarre plot twists was shown off during the Silent Hill Transmission event along with other pieces of merchandise, and survival horror fans will soon be able to relive the delight and confusion of Silent Hill 2's "Dog Ending."

The Dog Ending is one of two joke endings in the normally somber and horrifying Silent Hill 2, and it's somewhat difficult to unlock. Once a player has completed the conditions, they'll be treated to a cutscene where the protagonist, James Sunderland, opens a door to find a Shiba Inu wearing headphones and operating a large computer with several buttons, switches, and a large map of Silent Hill. He'll accuse the dog of being the mastermind behind everything that's happened to him in Silent Hill 2, and the player is then treated to a special dog-themed credits sequence.

With the game celebrating its 20th anniversary today, here is why Silent Hill 2 is still so important.

Fans looking to own a physical reminder of this goofy scene can now do so for the price of ¥32000, or roughly $200 USD. Konami unveiled the Inu-End Coin Bank Statue back in 2022, and fans have been waiting for this moment ever since. The statue is 330 mm (roughly 13") wide and features the dog, Mira, hard at work making James' life miserable.

The statue is just one of several items of Silent Hill merchandise that was announced during the transmission, which also included actual-sized models of items featured in the game's puzzles, a wearable reproduction of the jacket James Sunderland wears, and more figures and figurines. Fans can also purchase a 410 mm (roughly 16") figurine of Sakura Head, the creature from Silent Hill: The Short Message for ¥54,780, or $350 USD.

The Foggy Future of Silent Hill 2

Many Silent Hill fans regard Silent Hill 2 as one of the best games in the franchise and are wary of the Silent Hill 2 remake, which is being developed by Bloober Team, the studio that created other psychological horror games like the Layers of Fear series and Observer. Despite Bloober Team's experience in the genre, reception wavers between cautiously optimistic and cynically apathetic, partially because footage released so far has raised concerns about the remake's quality. Some fans are also not over the sting of having P.T./Silent Hills taken from them before it even got a chance to scare them out of their skin. But whatever the outcome of the Silent Hill 2 remake, with the Inu-End Coin Bank Statue and roughly $200 they can keep a piece of Silent Hill history for their very own.
