One of the most popular Twitch streamers, Shroud, said on stream that the recently released Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is worse than Battlefield 2042. As Shroud is playing Modern Warfare 2 with his buddies and fellow streamers, he comments on a question that he had been asked before.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is Activision's latest iteration of first-person shooters in the long line of best-selling Call of Duty games. In the game's single-player campaign, which launched a couple of weeks ago in Early Access for those that pre-ordered the game, players join Task Force 141 once again in Modern Warfare 2. This time the enemies are just across the US southern border, and players need to fight against the cartel and terrorists that plan attacks on both sides of the border.

Shroud was streaming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 when the discussion with the friends on the same voice chat turned towards the reception of the game. Shroud wondered whether people were disappointed and alluded to the Modern Warfare 2 crashing issues. As one of the party members was mentioning that Modern Warfare 2's visuals are impressive, while another aspect of the game might not be, Shroud joins in to share his perspective. Someone had previously asked him whether he'd prefer Modern Warfare 2 or Battlefield 2024, to which he now had an answer.

According to Shroud, Battlefield 2024 clearly edges out Modern Warfare 2. While the game has been massively popular over the past week, Shroud isn't the first streamer to critique the game. Dr Disrespect recently rage-quit Modern Warfare 2 and uninstalled it, after getting enough of it. However, while the gamer doesn't enjoy Modern Warfare 2 as much as Battlefield 2042, it's not all bad news for the game. He mentions that the game and the gun models look good, and there's nothing wrong with the animations. Also, at the point of assessing the game, he hadn't played all the game modes. Another member of the party notes that Ground War might be closer to what they are used to in Battlefield 2024, with less fast-paced running after frags.

Modern Warfare 2 has been out for just one week, but it has already seen its fair share of troubles and triumphs. The game was the fastest-selling Call of Duty game ever on the opening weekend but has some major issues that have needed fixing. Infinity Ward has recently issued a patch that re-enables attachment tuning, which had been causing issues in some cases.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
