With all this experimentation going on, players will need a lot of Macca to fund it. However, it may prove quite difficult to gather up the Macca necessary just by playing through the game normally. Here are some tips to help players rack up Macca fast.

10 Fight Demons

At first, the only way players will be able to earn Macca is by fighting demons. Earning money by fighting normal encounters is a common way to earn money in most JRPGs, so players will quickly default to fighting demons in order to earn some cash early on.

However, most players will quickly find that the Macca that they earn from fighting demons is very little. While players will need to rely on this method in the early game, they will soon find more effective methods of earning Macca.

9 Sell Surplus Items

As the player travels through the world of Da'at, they will collect a variety of consumable items. While many of these are very useful in battle, the player may find themselves hitting a surplus on some of their lesser used items.

Since some of these items have pretty low maximums, such as the elemental shards and gems, it may be beneficial to sell some off to avoid hitting the cap. It's important not to sell off too many, however, since they can still be useful in battle. Always hang onto a few.

8 Hunt For Relics

The most common way that players are expected to earn money is by collecting relics from the various vending machines found throughout Da'at. The relics vary in value, but since they respawn often, it is possible to collect and sell a large amount at once.

Obtaining the early-game Miracle Hand of God will allow the player to occasionally obtain more relics every time they collect, boosting the amount of relics they receive. Relic-collecting trips will be a frequent activity for players planning on using lots of Macca.

7 Go Treasure Hunting

Large treasure boxes dot the landscape of Da'at, and hunting them down will be one of the many activities players will be doing in Shin Megami Tensei 5. A classic trope of role-playing games, these treasure boxes often contain many useful items, including essences.

Treasure boxes can also contain large amounts of Macca, which can be a great boon for players who are hurting for cash. Even if they don't give Macca, these boxes occasionally give items that can be sold for a decent sum instead. Unlike relics, treasure boxes do not respawn, but they can be good for a one-time Macca boost.

6 Hunt The Mitama Demons

Every now and then, the player will encounter one of the Mitama demons in battle, either alone or in a group. Killing one of these demons is extremely profitable, since they can give large amounts of Macca in addition to rare items and experience.

However, killing these Mitama demons is harder than it sounds. Mitama are only ever weak to one specific element, and will block any other element. Furthermore, their weaknesses change constantly, and they are prone to running away. Luck is a big factor when hunting down Mitama.

5 Talk With Recruited Demons

One of Shin Megami Tensei's featured mechanics is the ability to talk with demons. By talking to them, the player has the chance to recruit the demon to their party.

The player can also talk to demons they've already recruited and have in their party. In this case, the demon will acknowledge their presence and leave the battle, providing an easy way to end fights in an emergency. Sometimes, the demons will leave the player a parting gift of Macca, which makes this a risk-free method of earning money. It relies a lot on chance, but it can be a good way to work up some cash while exploring.

4 Do Repeatable Quests For Gems

There are a lot of sidequests dotting the landscape of Da'at, and doing them will grant the player various rewards. As the player goes through the sidequests, they will occasionally encounter ones that are actually repeatable. These quests usually require the player to get a certain item by hunting a particular demon.

While the initial reward for completion is only available once, demons will still reward the player with gems every time they complete their quest. These gems can be used in battle for a variety of effects, but they can also be sold for a small sum. Repeatedly completing these quests can be a quick way to earn considerable Macca.

3 Corner A Demon In Battle

After obtaining the Deathly Aura I & II Miracles, demons have a chance of feeling cornered once they become the only demon left in a normal encounter. When this happens, they may choose to beg for their life, upon which the player may choose to demand Macca from the demons in exchange for letting them go.

The main drawback of this method is that it can be very rare for a demon to feel cornered, making it quite inefficient for earning money quickly. Still, players can get a decent amount of Macca if they happen to corner a demon while exploring.

2 Use The Magatsuhi Skill Omagatoki: Luck

Various demons can get special Magatsuhi skills based on their particular race. The Element race of demons can use the Omagatoki: Luck Magatsuhi skill, which doubles the amount of experience and money earned from a battle.

While using this Magatsuhi skill can be a good way to boost profits from a battle (especially a Mitama fight), there are some things to keep in mind, such as the effort needed to recharge the Magatsuhi gauge. It's also important to remember that the battle must be won the turn that Omagatoki: Luck is used in order for this method to work.

1 Search With A Quest Navigator

Companions have been a big part of many RPGs, and Shin Megami Tensei 5 is no different. After a short amount of game time, the player will be given their first Quest Navigator. The Quest Navigator helps to point out various quest objectives, but their main role is to search out and discover various treasure points throughout the world of Da'at.

Whenever the player interacts with one of these treasure points, they can find items, Macca, or even relics. Sometimes, the Navigator may also get the player into a fight, but those fights can often be with Mitama, which makes it a prime opportunity for earning more money.
