Highlights

  • Use Glory to purchase Miracles in the World of Shadows for bonuses that will boost your Nahobino and demons' abilities.
  • Some Miracles like Forestall and Fell Swoop are easy sources of Magatsuhi energy.
  • Proficiency Miracles give the Nahobino and demons additional skill slots.

Throughout the Netherworld of Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance, players can collect Glory. Taking that Glory to the World of Shadows will let players purchase various Miracles that offer various bonuses for the Nahobino and his demons.

As players find and defeat Abscesses, more Miracles can be purchased. While all Miracles have some uses, others are much more beneficial, with some being critical to making your party stronger right at the start of the game.

Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance - Moon Phases & Effects Explained

Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance has a constantly changing moon, with each phase affecting the demons and world around the player.

7 Forestall

  • Cost: 5 Glory.
  • Large boost in Magatsuhi.

Forestall gives a boost in Magatsuhi energy at the start of battle if the players begin the battle by attacking the enemy in the overworld. This should be the go-to method for starting every battle as it also lets the player go first in that battle.

Even if a Magatsuhi skill isn't used in that battle, the energy stays stored up forever until used. The benefits from this skill will quickly stack up with other methods of generating Magatsuhi and give players a full bar every few random encounters, which is especially helpful when trying to charge up before a boss fight.

6 Fell Swoop

  • Cost: 30 Glory.
  • Small boost in Magatsuhi in battle.

Fell Swoop gives additional Magatsuhi energy every time a weakness or critical hit is landed. While there is no wrong way to play, always aiming for weaknesses or setting yourself up to land critical hits will not only deal extra damage but also give more Press Turn icons.

This Miracle is one of the few ways players can boost Magatsuhi in battle, which can be very helpful in longer boss fights where Magatsuhi skills are needed more than once. While the energy earned from hitting a weakness or critical is less than beginning a battle with Forestall, players can hit weaknesses many times in battle with ease, giving more opportunity for earned energy in a single battle.

5 Demon Proficiency I

  • Cost: 50 Glory.
  • Effects demons and guest characters.

Demon Proficiency gives all demon allies one more skill slot. While demons only learn a few more skills than what they start with, the number of skill slots they start with will greatly hinder their usefulness in battle as they won't reach their full potential with their usual skill set.

Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance - How To Defeat Mitamas

Mitmas are a unique type of demon in Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance that doesn't have a universal weakness to rely on; here's how to defeat them.

This problem is further magnified with fusion in Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance, as demons will start off with even more skills with new ones to be learned. While there is usually a clear hierarchy with damage skills, players will want a wide array of support skills that buff the party and debuff their enemies.

4 Divine Garrison 1,2 &3

  • Cost: 10, 20, 50 Glory.
  • Tier 1 and 2 is +1 to your Stock, Tier 3 is +2 to your stock.

The first few Divine Garrison Miracles are available very early on and all serve the same purpose of increasing your Demon Stock, which is how many demons can be summoned at once. Your party will only ever be four demons at once, but having additional strong demons in your stock will give players backup options in case those demons die and the Nahobino survives.

Fusion is also at the center of getting new and powerful demons and having a large stock will give players lots of room to recruit demons to hold onto for later fusion. Combination Magatsuhi skills in Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance can also be taken advantage of using demons in your stock, and extra slots can still leave room for stronger demons in case you need a few weaker ones of a certain alignment.

3 Divine Proficiency I

  • Cost: 30 Glory.
  • Required for later Divine Proficiency upgrades.

Divine Proficiency gives the Nahobino an additional skill slot. The Nahobino has endless potential, and through essence, fusion will be able to use just about any skill in the game. Players will quickly build up a large supply of essence to choose from, and this Miracle gives one more slot to use.

As players can choose how to build their Nahobino, he will quickly become the strongest character in the party and will require a wide array of powerful skills to take advantage of his incredible stats. Essences will also give players long-term access to some of the best support skills that can be used by the Nahobino without having to get rid of a damage skill to make room for it.

2 Art Of Essences I

  • Cost: 30 Glory.
  • Players should get Divine Proficiency I first to get the bonuses of this Miracle.

Pulling skills from collected essences is the only way to get new skills on the Nahobino. While it won't be a problem right away, many essences will begin having entire loadouts that will be desirable to put on the Nahobino.

Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance - Tips To Level Up Quickly

One key to success in Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance is to level up fast, which is no easy task in this RPG.

Art of Essence will let one more skill be pulled from an essence, which is incredibly useful for some of the rare essences in the game. With Divine Proficiency, the player will already have access to more skill slots, and combing these Miracles will give players more options in battle.

1 Divine Amalgamation

  • Cost: 20 Glory.
  • All the affinities of an essence are applied.

Divine Amalgamation allows players to change the Nahobino's elemental affinities to any essence they currently have. This is incredibly helpful, as players can change his affinity to block the go-to element of a difficult boss to almost completely protect their best character in a difficult battle.

While there is no perfect essence to pull your affinities from, this Miracle makes switching them out often very easy, and something players can and should do for every boss fight.
