With Shin Megami Tensei 3 Nocturne HD Remaster coming to PC and consoles next month, players are already psyching themselves up to return to the cult classic JRPG. The re-release of the game will come with several quality of life updates, including an easier difficulty and a "suspend save" feature, which allows them to save their progress whenever they want via the pause menu.

With the upcoming remaster's release date drawing closer by the day, it seems Atlus is starting to ramp up its promotion of the port, releasing a new trailer that focuses entirely on the game's three separate factions. As fans of the third Shin Megami Tensei will no doubt know, the Demi-Fiend's decisions will see him ally with one of these groups during the game, and this new footage does a good job of introducing what separates their ideologies and the personalities of their charismatic leaders.

Picking a leader to follow will mostly come down to which of their "reasons" the player subscribes to most, with each character holding a different value that will spearhead their effort to reshape Shin Megami Tensei 3's world. The trailer first highlights Chiaki Hayasaka, whose reason is known as Yosuga. She wants to turn the world into a paradise "ruled by the strong and the worthy," forming an elitist society that would eradicate the weak and hoist up the powerful. Meanwhile, there's the Musubi reasoning, which is head by Isamu Nitta. His belief centers around isolation, allowing everyone to create their own personal paradise shaped by their own desires with no interference from others.

Finally, there's Hikawa, who subscribes to the Shijima reasoning. His ideology centers around the idea of emotionless balance, removing the world's passion and individuality in an effort to bring harmony without conflict, destruction, or violence. The player will be asked which of the three ideologies they believe in most throughout the game and, as the trailer shows, the conversations they have with NPCs will affect how the story plays out.

Whichever reason they've sided with throughout the game will lead to multiple different endings, with players able to see the results of their allegiance and its effect on Nocturne's world. They'll be able to discover what the consequence of each choice will be when the remaster launches next month, bringing the cult-classic game to an array of new platforms. It's a good time for the iconic Shin Megami title to return considering the franchise will be debuting its latest entry this year, with Shin Megami Tensei 5 slated for 2021. Little is currently known about the follow-up other than its title and the fact it will be coming to the Nintendo Switch.

Shin Megami Tensei 3 Nocturne HD Remaster is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, and Switch on May 25.
