She-Hulk: Attorney at Law introduced audiences to Skaar, the Hulk's (Mark Ruffalo) son whom he fathered while on Sakaar. Concept artist Constantine Sekeris gave fans a glimpse at some unused concept art for the character, and some of the illustrations are far removed from the final result.

Before appearing in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Skaar was introduced in the comics following the “Planet Hulk” event, where Hulk was exiled by the Illuminati to Sakaar. Fearing the Hulk had grown too dangerous, the Illuminati also rigged his ship to explode and kill him. Unfortunately for the Hulk, the ship's explosion was delayed until after he became King of the planet and married Caiera, a native of Sakaar who was also pregnant with his son. Hulk was unaware that Skaar survived his mother’s death and rapidly aged.

Sekeris posted a few early Skaar designs on Instagram. One particular iteration depicts Skaar with a fringe, looking slightly older than he appeared on She-Hulk but still wearing similar clothes as he does in the final version. Another iteration features Skaar in a more gladiatorial outfit with a topknot, and he also looks more like a younger version of Mark Ruffalo. At least one other variant of the concept art features Skaar in more barbarian-inspired attire with loose hair, giving him more of an orc-ish look.

Sekeris notes he’s a big fan of the character in the caption and says he wanted to bring the character to life in his art. While these designs did not make the cut in She-Hulk, the character still has time to evolve and grow, meaning it’s possible that some of these outfits may yet appear on-screen. There’s plenty left to learn about Skaar, and his existence is something of a mystery.

Fans believe Skaar might be connected to the ship that fired on the car Bruce Banner and Tatiana Maslany's Jennifer Walters were travelling in, causing Jen to crash and come into contact with Bruce's gamma-radiated blood. “Planet Hulk” was loosely adapted to film in Thor: Ragnarok, but Caiera was nowhere to be seen. It may prove a bit troublesome to integrate the character into films, but how will audiences who haven't seen She-Hulk react to Hulk suddenly having a son?

Still, Skaar appears to be peaceful in the short scene he does appear in. His appearance in She-Hulk was actually a mandate from Kevin Feige, so it’s likely that there are some big plans ahead for the character. Perhaps the presence of multiple “Hulk” characters on Earth will lead up to a significant event.
