One of HBO Max's surprise hits of 2020 is adding a big star to what is already a rather talented cast. When The Flight Attendant returns to HBO Max later this year it will be bringing Sharon Stone with it.
The first season of The Flight Attendant starred Kaley Cuoco as someone who is a hard partier when she gets to stay over in one city or another. That hard partying (and borderline or even obvious alcoholism) takes a very dark turn when she wakes up next to a man she spent the night with. The problem is that the man she spent the night with was murdered right next to her. There was some worry that HBO Max wasn't going to renew the series, but it finally did in late 2020.
Deadline reports that when the HBO Max show does return to the airwaves, Stone will be coming with it. The legendary actress is slated to play Cuoco's character's mother, as season 2 is set to continue examining Cassie Bowden's rather uncomfortable relationship with her parents. The first season dove deep into the problems she had with her father and season 2 will take a look at why she and her mother are estranged.
Of course, the focus on examining the Harley Quinn actress' relationship with Stone's character will be combined with Cassie's new life. She's now happy and sober and working to help the CIA. Of course, because of the nature of the show, it should come as no surprise that she'll also be working to try and solve a murder she witnessed.
Stone's Lisa Bowden has apparently been missing from Cassie's life for several years. The character is said to feel as though she has nothing left to give her daughter now that she's helped her work through her drinking problem. There was a bit of a glimpse of Lisa Bowden in a flashback scene, but Sharon Stone will have quite a bit more screen time this season.
As for Cuoco, Cassie Bowden is just the latest character she's appearing on HBO Max to play. She's also taking a comedic turn in the anti-hero-based animated series Harley Quinn. While the third season of that show doesn't have a release date just yet, it's expected to be landing on the streaming platform at some point in 2022. However, for now, fans are just wondering when they can get an update on when the next season will arrive.
The Flight Attendant season one is now available on HBO Max.
