Two years into its lifespan, Valorant has gained another new fan, in the form of Simu Liu, and it turns out he's a Breach main. It's far from the first time the worlds of gaming and Hollywood have collided.Valorant has become quite a phenomenon among video games in just two years on the market and has garnered many avid fans even from the most unexpected places. Chinese-Canadian actor Simu Liu is a rising star in Hollywood, having done major acting work since 2012. His most notable role was the titular superhero in the 2021 MCU film, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, with other notable castings including a guest appearance in Fresh Off the Boat and one of many versions of Ken in the upcoming Barbie movie.RELATED: Valorant Rumor Suggests Big Move for the GameDuring the premiere for the latter, Liu opened up about his favorite Valorant character to play as. The 44-second clip was posted on Twitter by Melissah Yang, the Entertainment Director at Refinery29, in which the actor explains that he enjoys playing Valorant with friends. While he enjoys playing Sage and Brim, his true main is Breach who is one of 10 characters included in the game from the start. According to Liu, he is still developing his Breach, but greatly enjoys his more direct and power-oriented playstyle. He went on to agree with the interviewer, a fellow Valorant fan, that Breach just might be a bit overpowered.

Simu Liu is among a handful of celebrities who are known avid video game players in their downtime. He has previously noted his love for Diablo 4 and was among the loudest voices calling upon Microsoft to save Starcraft back in early 2022. He's even been known for posting clips of his Valorant gameplay to his own Twitter account whenever he's not working on set.

In recent years, the connection between Hollywood and gaming has only gotten stronger. Various celebrities have openly expressed their love for the medium, appeared in promotional material, or have even made appearances in the games themselves, whether as character skins, voice actors, or even both. It is unknown what led to this spike in connectivity, but in the case of Simu Liu, it should be a treat to catch even more glimpses into his gaming escapades moving forward.
