The official Dying Light 2: Stay Human Twitter account made some waves recently when it made the bold claim that the game would take a staggering 500 hours to fully complete. This claim was met with mixed reactions, but it was later clarified that it takes 500 hours to do absolutely everything in the game. Beating Dying Light 2's main story will only take about 20 hours and it will take most people around 80 hours to beat the main story and complete all the side quests.

Regardless, Dying Light 2's 500 hour playtime claim has drawn some criticism, with some arguing that no video game really needs to be that long and others poking fun at it. This includes the official Twitter account for Shadow Warrior 3, which posted some gameplay footage along with the caption that it takes 500 hours to complete the game if it's played 60 times. That comes out to about eight hours to beat Shadow Warrior 3, which makes sense for the series.

This playful jab at Dying Light 2: Stay Human and its social media marketing strategy was met positively, with the Dying Light 2 Twitter account getting in on the joke by responding to Shadow Warrior 3 with a meme.

Dying Light 2's release date is coming up soon, and so the 500 hours claim came about as part of the game's marketing push. The Dying Light 2 Twitter has been releasing interesting tidbits about the game, showing off its skill trees and claiming that Dying Light 2 will have over 500 items for players to equip. Needless to say, there should be no shortage of content in Dying Light 2 for players to seek out, and it should keep fans of open world games busy for quite some time.

Shadow Warrior 3 is going to be much smaller scale in comparison, but it's not trying to be a sprawling open world game. On the contrary, Shadow Warrior 3 is a more traditional, linear first-person shooter experience. The Shadow Warrior 3 release date was delayed and it's currently without a new one, but fans should be able to play it at some point later this year.

Shadow Warrior 3 and Dying Light 2 are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to new FPS games on the way in 2022, so there should be plenty for fans of the genre to look forward to in the months ahead.

Shadow Warrior 3 is launching later this year for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
