There are a wide variety of great swords in Shadow Warrior 2, all of which offer unique bonuses and varied ways of approaching combat. Players who enjoy the fast-paced thrill of melee combat should read on to find out about the best swords and what they can do.

7 Bladez Of Zaibatsu

  • DPS: 75.9
  • Bonus: 50% of Damage converted to Force Slash when there is ammo

If holding one deadly katana is not enough, then why not two? With their sleek and modern design, these Chi-tech dual swords will fulfill any player's dual-wielding fantasies and any dreams they may have of being a cyberpunk ninja. They also offer the player some ranged damage potential as they can create a wave of damage on each basic attack.

This does, however, require plasma ammunition, which is likely better spent on another weapon, especially later in the game when there are many great plasma weapons to choose from. Still, these electric swords can be great early in the game or for players looking to do a melee-only playthrough of the game. They are obtained automatically upon completing the story mission "My Hero."

6 Fist Of Gozu

shadow warrior 2 fist of gozu
  • DPS: 80.8
  • Bonuses: +20% Damage Resist, 100% for Bloody Kill, +50% Damage while standing still, Unblockable

Eagle-eyed readers may notice that the Fist of Gozu is a rather odd-looking sword. In fact, it rather looks like an axe. Still, Shadow Warrior2 insists that it sword category, and mechanically it works the same. Where it does differ from the rest of the weapons on this list is in its speed.

The Fist of Gozu hits for a massive 64.2 damage but swings very slowly. This encourages a more steady, defensive playstyle in which the player waits for the enemies to come to them. With its boost to survivability and damage while standing still, it is definitely a viable strategy. It is also made a lot of fun as it also guarantees Bloody kills, making enemies explode into a red mist. If this tanky, hard-hitting approach sounds good, then players should head to the Way of the Wang DLC and complete all the challenges.

5 Blade Of Exile

shadow warrior 2 blade of exile
  • DPS: 101.4
  • Bonus: 10% Chance to cast Vanish on Special Attack hit

The Blade of Exile is a huge, ancient sword of mysterious origins. It grants its wielder the chance to become invisible on hitting an enemy with a Special Attack. Invisibility is always powerful in games as it gives the player a break from enemy attacks for a few seconds and allows them to refocus and attack from a different angle.

The Vanish effect also grants a 50% bonus to melee damage which massively improves the performance of this weapon and makes it excellent against bosses. To find it, players will need to complete "All in the Family."

4 Blizzard

  • Bonuses: 19% chance to cast Ice Nova with 10x damage on kill, 100% Freeze chance

The 100% Freeze chance can keep bigger threats distracted while players cut down a few smaller enemies, which is made far easier by the swords setting off Ice Novas. These blasts will deal a good chunk of damage and can quickly kill entire groups of enemies.

3 Nobitsura Ka-ge

shadow warrior 2 nobitsura ka-ge
  • DPS: 184.4
  • Bonuses: +25% Movement Speed for 10 sec on kill, +50% Damage Resist for 10 sec on Critical hit

This intricate blade is a golden version of the same sword from the first game and is just as powerful. It boosts the player's movement speed after each kill and can keep the player rushing around the map with respectable Damage Resist too. This lets the player engage enemies on their own terms and easily retreat if things get a little risky.

This makes it the perfect weapon for players who like their action as fast-paced as possible and who like to deal the highest amount of damage in the shortest amount of time. It can be obtained by completing the "Wang in a Box" quest.

2 Ryuken

Where Ryuken truly shines, however, is in its chance to grant the player full Fury. This allows the player to use it far more often, massively increasing their damage potential and survivability.

1 Arm Of Orochi

shadow warrior 2 arm of orochi
  • DPS: 87.2
  • Bonuses: Casts Force Slash on attack for 33% damage, Unblockable, +10% Movement Speed

When trying to kill an Ancient, immortal Demon Goddess, one needs the absolute best of the best and in Shadow Warrior 2 this is the Arm of Orochi. This incredible sword is given to the player before the final boss fight and is one of the best weapons in the game.

Although the movement speed boost and its unblockable attacks are nice, its true power is in the Force Slash ability. Every attack with the Arm of Orochi causes a wave of damage that can hit multiple enemies. This has no plasma ammunition cost, meaning that it is simply a flat damage increase to the weapon. It also makes it more useful against groups and in situations where the player needs to deal ranged damage, making it one of the most powerful video game swords.

Shadow Warrior 2 is currently available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
