The PS4 Shadow of the Colossus remake has so far impressed in terms of graphics. A recent comparison video highlighted just how good the PS4 Pro version of the game looks compared to the original version released on PS2. Thankfully, fans will now have an easier way of showing off these much-improved graphics with a new gameplay feature.

Bluepoint Games, the developer behind the Shadow of the Colossus remake, has now confirmed that the game will include a Photo Mode when it is released early next month. Bluepoint realized that the development team spent "more and more time with Photo Mode as the system took shape, grabbing photos we thought captured moments that were unique and awe-inspiring." Naturally, it made sense to let players get on on the photo-capturing fun too.

Bluepoint's art director Mark Skelton reveals that the Photo Mode includes all of the tools that he has access to as an art director. This includes camera adjustments as players can switch the camera from Wander to Agro, a variety of filters, the ability to adjust color balancing, shadows, midtones, highlights, depth of field ranges and amounts, and a vignette too.

Additional features include the ability to leave some of the filters on during gameplay. Players will also be able to rotate the camera 90 degrees in order to create portrait images that are best-suited for being used as a mobile wallpaper.

The majority of responses from Shadow of the Colossus fans to the Photo Mode announcement have been positive. Fans are glad to see that Bluepoint Games is including a feature that allows players to actually show off the incredible sights and scenes that they are witnessing. Plus, as so many other newly released games have their very own photo modes (including PS4 exclusive Horizon Zero Dawn), it makes the Shadow of the Colossus a truly modern game.

Though with that said, there are a handful of people who would rather have some new boss battles instead of Photo Mode. Infamously, the original Shadow of the Colosssus is an unfinished game and the developers originally planned to include several more colossi for Wander to take on. Bluepoint may not have added those characters to the game for the remake but maybe disappointed fans can find some solace in the spectacular screenshots that they can create with Photo Mode.

Shadow of the Colossus releases on February 6th, exclusively for the PS4.
