Originally released way back in 1999, the action-adventure game Shadow Man is seeping its way back into the fore. With a launch trailer having been released recently which shows footage for an upcoming remastered version being made by Nightdive Studios, there's now talk that a remake is in the pipeline as well.

According to a source, an indie development team is currently working on a full remake of Shadow Man. At the moment, there doesn't appear to be much in the way of details of who's behind it or when it will be released and for what systems. However, the developer has released a trailer which shows off a little bit of play footage and teases that the game will be out in "20XX".

What is known, however, is that the remake is being built in the Unreal Engine evidenced by the logo being present in the trailer. The source also indicates that Tim Haywood, who was the composer on the original Shadow Man game, is involved in the project as well.

Nightdive Studios, who along with making the remastered version were also responsible for the reboot of System Shock, have not said anything about the Shadow Man remake, which suggests that this is not an official project and is being made by fans instead. The fact that a trailer has already been released hints that this is something already deep into development. It's just a bit of a shame that not much is known about it, especially given that this is something fans of the original would arguably be up for.

Shadow Man remake is currently in development.
