Back in the day, the majority of fighting games featured multiple unlockable characters. Around the turn of the century, however, developers realized that they could sell these extra fighters to players as DLC instead. This, in turn, meant that they needed to find other ways to reward players for their in-game feats, which led to the introduction of things like artwork galleries, unlockable outfits, and, in more recent years, titles.
Titles are tied to a player's profile and are often worn like a medal of honor. They can be used to show that a player has mastered a certain character or completed a particularly challenging in-game task. Street Fighter 6 has hundreds of titles and players will find themselves unlocking them on a fairly regular basis. However, the game never actually explains how to change titles in Street Fighter 6, leaving some players a little confused by the process.
How to Change Titles in Street Fighter 6
In order to change their title card in Street Fighter 6, players will need to head to the "Battle Settings" menu. There are a few different ways to reach this menu, one of which is to head to the Multi Menu by hitting the Start or Options button from the main menu and then selecting the "Profile" option. From there, players can press either the Square (PlayStation) or X (Xbox) button to be taken to the Battle Settings menu.
Once there, players should use the shoulder buttons to navigate to the "Character" submenu and then select the character whose title card they'd like to change (every Street Fighter 6 fighter has their own card). They'll then want to press R1 (PlayStation) or RB (Xbox) to navigate to the "Title Settings" menu, where they'll then see all of the title cards that they've unlocked. After finding the one they want, they'll simply need to press X (PlayStation) or A (Xbox) to change the title of their chosen character or Triangle (PlayStation) or Y (Xbox) to change the title for every fighter.
How to Unlock New Title Cards in Street Fighter 6
Players will unlock new titles simply by playing the game. All of the Street Fighter 6 fighters have 15 unique titles that are unlocked by earning Kudos, all of which can be checked from the "Kudos" section of the Rewards menu. There are also a bunch of titles tied to online rank, World Tour mode achievements, and other game modes, which players can check by heading to the aforementioned Title Settings submenu and toggling the "Hide/Show Unowned" option to Show. This will allow players to see what every title in Street Fighter 6 looks like as well as their unlock conditions.
