Announcing a variety of new games and features, Google's newest Stadia Connect debuted earlier today, with the event seeing the company attempting to win back some of its more frustrated fans. The company revealed a number of major updates for Stadia fans during the broadcast, including announcing that Hitman 3 will be making the jump to the platform next year alongside other popular titles such as Dead by Daylight and Hello Neighbor.

One of its biggest announcements, however, came when the company announced that 2019's Game of the Year will be making the leap to Google Stadia, with Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice supposedly hitting the streaming service later this year. With a lot of fans complaining that Stadia's library isn't quite diverse enough, Sekiro is definitely a game with enough star power to make players turn their heads.

If you somehow haven't heard of FromSoftware's critically acclaimed samurai adventure, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is a brutally challenging action game in the same vein as the studio's work on Dark Souls. That being said, the games' combat styles don't share too many similarities, with Sekiro instead focusing more on damaging opponents posture through solidly placed attacks, well-timed parries, and a myriad of other defensive abilities. Alongside that, it offers a series of beautiful environments and intense encounters, including seeing players go one on one with a colossal serpent and battle a giant decapitated gorilla. As previously mentioned, the game scooped up Geoff Keighley's coveted Game of the Year award late last year, becoming the first FromSoftware game to receive the trophy.

Of course, Stadia's notorious input lag issues and connection problems could be an issue for players looking to get stuck into Sekiro, with the title's rampant difficulty demanding fast reaction times and quick button inputs. It'll likely be a good test of how well Stadia's streaming service works when under pressure, hopefully allowing players to experience FromSoftware's seminal experience without any significant issues. Regardless, it's a great game that will be a wonderful addition to any Stadia player's limited library of releases.

As for Google Stadia itself, it seems the end of this year will come with a number of notable releases for its dwindling fanbase. Both Watchdogs Legion and Assassin's Creed: Valhalla will be making their way to the service, while Marvel's Avengers and Cyberpunk 2077 will come to the streaming console as well. As Stadia looks to get some huge games, it seems now will be the make or break point for Google's ambitious new gaming platform.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, with a Google Stadia version coming later this year.
