Elden Ring fans have been losing their cool over the lack of info on the game for the past few months, with the community’s antics providing plenty of laughs over the last few maps. One Elden Ring fans has provided a unique spin on counting down to the game, and it seems them pulling off an impressive feat in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

Countdowns have become increasingly prevalent in the Elden Ring community, with many doubling as memes at the same time. One countdown has seen FromSoftware visionary Hidetaka Miyazaki becoming increasingly transparent with each passing day. Fading away 1% each day, the developer slowly disappearing has become quite the draw for the Elden Ring fanbase, and Miyazaki will likely fade away fully before the game is released. However, one new countdown takes the memes to a new level.

While players may enjoy making Elden Ring tier lists or rotating pictures of Dark Souls’ Solaire daily, Redditor Altjohn has been showing off his skill as he kills time until Elden Ring. For the past two weeks, the player has been killing Isshin, The Sword Saint every single day. The final boss of the game and one of the hardest video game bosses in recent years, many players struggle to beat Isshin normally. Altjohn, on the other hand, is doing it daily — and that is hardly the most impressive part of the feat.

This Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice player is not content with just beating Isshin every day, as Altjohn does so with no charms equipped. With Kuro’s Charm negating chip damage, it is a must for most players, yet this fan seems to have no interest in having an advantage over Isshin. If that was not enough, the player rang the Demon Bell, significantly increasing the game’s difficulty. Lastly, no healing is done through the entirety of the battle, showing that the player has truly mastered the ins-and-outs of this brutal encounter with The Sword Saint.

Commenters have blown away by the players success every day, with the latest post seeing players suggest that Altjohn complete an even tougher whenever Elden Ring releases. According to banana_fishbones, Altjohn should try to take down Isshin blindfolded on the day that Elden Ring finally launches. While this task may sound absurdly difficult, Altjohn has clearly mastered the fight as is, and the Redditor says that they “will at some point.” If this Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice challenge is eventually pulled off, it will be quite the sight for fans.

Fortunately, Elden Ring fans could at least be seeing the game talked about sometime soon. Not only has Elden Ring’s trailer leaked, but a special event is supposedly being planned for March — something that would bring a welcome end to the silence.

Elden Ring is still supposed to release sometime in 2021 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
