In July, SEGA announced plans for the SEGA Genesis Mini 2, a mini console packed with 80s and early 90s games from the SEGA Genesis and SEGA CD consoles. It would be a follow-up to 2019's Sega Genesis Mini console, only smaller and featuring even more games. The initial SEGA Genesis Mini 2 announcement confirmed the first 23 games included on the device. Now SEGA is ready to unveil the full list of 60 games to be included on the SEGA Genesis Mini 2.

Unsurprisingly, there's a healthy mix of major and more niche game releases from the SEGA Genesis era. Some of the most critically acclaimed Genesis games now confirmed for the SEGA Genesis Mini 2 include Shining Force 2, Phantasy Star II, Ranger-X, Earthworm Jim 2, and Ristar. There are also popular titles like Clayfighter, Fatal Fury 2, Golden Axe 2, Streets of Rage 3, Super Street Fighter 2: The New Challengers, and Virtua Racing.

Similarly, there's a solid line-up of SEGA CD games, too. That list includes Sonic the Hedgehog CD, Final Fight CD, Sewer Shark, Shining Force CD, and Silpheed. Even the cult classic FMV horror game Night Trap is included on the SEGA Genesis Mini 2. Overall, only 12 SEGA CD titles are included out of the 60 total, but it's a great snapshot of some of the best games released for the platform -- and games that would otherwise be difficult to otherwise find and play, too.

In addition to the expected line-up of SEGA Genesis and SEGA CD releases, SEGA has also revealed the full list of bonus games including previously unreleased games and ports. There are seven games in total, including the previously announced Fantasy Zone and Star Mobile. The newly revealed SEGA Genesis Mini 2 games include Devi & Pii, an unreleased paddle game from Sonic 3 developer Takashi Iizuka, ports of Space Harrier 2 (and Space Harrier), Spatter, and Super Locomotive, and a "demake" of the VS mode from Puyo Puyo Sun.

What's perhaps most impressive regarding the SEGA Genesis Mini 2 is that it doesn't overlap any games with the original SEGA Genesis Mini and its 40 games. The closest it gets is a different version of Street Fighter 2. It even fills some gaps, including games only released on the Japanese version of the console, like Alien Soldier, OutRun, and The Revenge of Shinobi. Collecting both will make a collection of 100 SEGA Genesis and SEGA CD games.

Those interested in purchasing the SEGA Genesis Mini 2 can pre-order right now. It's available exclusively on Amazon for $105.23, but fluctuates based on currency conversion over time, and has a $21.99 delivery surcharge. The first SEGA Genesis Mini is sold out across retailers very quickly and is now very difficult to find without paying significantly above retail. The SEGA Genesis Mini 2 will officially launch on October 27 in North America.
