With Gamescom soon to be over, there are only a few industry events left in the year. There's The Game Awards 2022 which will be held later in December, among others. There's also the Tokyo Game Show this September, which is set to involve a number of Japanese developers. Capcom's Tokyo Game Show schedule is already confirmed, which is going to feature many highly anticipated games from the publisher such as Street Fighter 6, Exoprimal, and even Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection. Sega and Atlus have also recently confirmed both will be taking part in the show, with a lineup consisting of some similarly high-profile games.

Sega and Atlus previously confirmed that both companies would be present at the show, but now the full schedule has been revealed on Tokyo Game Show's official website. While TGS will be taking place from September 15-18, 2022, there will be a special livestream known as Sega New, which will be giving the latest details on new Sega and Atlus titles. The runtime of this broadcast is going to be around 50 minutes and will be held on September 16, 2022. In regard to the games that will be highlighted at TGS, Sega confirmed them to be highly anticipated releases, such as Sonic Frontiers, along with a number of titles in partnership with other third-party companies.

Sonic Frontiers will be heading the show, being one of the company's highly anticipated releases since its reveal a couple of years ago. Discussions about the blue blur's open-world debut have been in flux throughout the past year, with the game even being featured at GamesCom with a new Story Trailer and an in-person demo. Another game that will be featured at this showcase is Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown, the remake of the PS3 original for the PS4 and PC utilizing Studio Ryu Ga Gotoku's Dragon Engine.

Alongside that, Atlus will be giving out more details about the highly anticipated remastered ports of the Persona series on other platforms, including PC, Xbox, and Switch. This includes the exhibitions of the remastered Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 5 Royal, complete with a booth. This booth will feature three life-sized models of iconic Personas in the series, Thanatos, Izanagi, and Arsene, which were previously at the Persona 25th FES anniversary event.

This year's event will mark the first time since 2019 that Tokyo Game Show is an in-person physical event. The event was entirely digital in 2020, while TGS 2021 had a mix of physical and virtual showcases. With this year's TGS allowing for hands-on exhibitions of the aforementioned lineup, it should be an exciting time for fans.
