The final season of See, the post-apocalyptic drama on Apple TV+ starring Jason Momoa, is set to premiere this Friday. The action-packed adventure series has been a hit for the streaming service, with the Aquaman actor delivering one of the best roles of his career as Baba Voss, a blind warrior with a wife and two adopted children.

The first season offered viewers a bleak vision of a world deconstructed by a virus, with homes torn apart, and nearly everyone losing their sense of sight. The second season continued the story with more personal battles and warfare. The final chapter of this series seeks to provide closure for Baba Voss and his family, who intend to find peace in a broken society.

How Will Baba Voss Return To His Family?

Maghra-and-Baba-Voss-in-See

After defeating his evil brother Edo Voss (Dave Bautista from Guardians of the Galaxy) in combat during the season two finale, Baba leaves his blind wife (Queen Maghra Kane) and their two sighted children (Haniwa and Kofun) to return to the wilderness. Baba is a man who prefers to live off of the land and hunt for his own food rather than stay under the rule of a monarchy. He may be blind, but he is a skillful fighter, especially with a sword. He also left because he feels guilty for killing his own brother (who he abandoned when he was young).

Baba also doesn’t want his family to be negatively affected by his actions or the bad things he’s done in the past (such as being a former slaver). However, after the sudden death of his friend and mentor Paris (Alfre Woodard) at the hands of former Queen Sibeth Kane (Maghra’s sister) at the end of last season, Baba will surely return to seek vengeance and fight to get back to his family.

The Enemies Baba Voss Will Face In Season 3

Sibeth-Kane-in-See

Baba has been a part of some bloody battles, and faced formidable opponents, including Jerlamarel (Kofun and Haniwa’s backstabbing biological father) and Edo. Sibeth Kane will be a challenging nemesis because she can command her own army and has powerful methods of persuasion. Sibeth is also a loose cannon (especially after killing her own people and destroying her kingdom in season one), proving that she can rapidly turn on anyone close to her. While Maghra will likely battle her sister to keep her rightful place on the throne (and to protect her children), Baba is the one who might kill Sibeth to avenge Paris' death.

There's also Oloman (Jerlamarel's oldest son and right-hand man), who intends to seek retribution for his father's death. In the season two finale, he is seen testing out new explosives, signifying that he is preparing for battle against Baba and his family (and perhaps Sibeth as well since she's at war with all people of sight).

Secret Relationships

Haniwa-and-Wren-in-See

Sibeth got very close and intimate with her nephew, Kofun, in season two, causing her to become pregnant with a potential heir to the throne. Her secret romance with Kofun will surely upset Baba, Maghra, and Haniwa once they find out the whole truth. This may cause Sibeth to influence Kofun to join her side and betray his family. However, Kofun has come too far to be brainwashed and lured by a treacherous monarch, and after everything Baba taught him about hunting and defending himself, the young man will come to his senses.

While held captive by Edo, Haniwa falls in love with Wren (Edo's resourceful lieutenant). Despite Wren's attempt to hide her ability to see, Haniwa figures it out, and both women befriend each other because they have a lot in common. They are strong fighters (especially with swords and bows and arrows), they appreciate household items and jewelry, and Haniwa likes to read Alice in Wonderland to Wren (who has never read a book before). Both women have a loving bond, but can't be together because they're on opposing sides.

After Edo's death and his army's defeat, Wren may not reunite with Haniwa in the final season since she is still devoted to her Trivantian tribe. However, it wouldn't be out of the question since they continue to have love and affection for each other, and if there is another major battle, Wren could be a reliable ally for Haniwa and her family.

Other Key Allies

Lord-Harlan-and-Tamacti-Jun-in-See

Tamacti Jun (Christian Camargo from the first season of the serial killer series Dexter) is a complex character because he initially starts out as a villain working for Sibeth as a Witchfinder General who encounters and kills people with vision. However, once he learned that the former Queen destroyed their kingdom, he is disgusted by her actions. Tamacti becomes loyal to Maghra, the new Queen, and recognizes that she is more fit to rule on the throne. He also becomes Baba's comrade in battle since he's also a well-trained fighter with a sword.

Tamacti will still be a useful ally for Baba and Maghra, and may also intend to get back at Sibeth for her treacherous crimes. Lord Harlan, Maghra's longtime friend, is one of the funnier and more charismatic characters in the series. While he always had affection for Maghra, he recognizes her love for Baba and her children, and will continue to support the new Queen to keep her kingdom in check, and to keep Sibeth away from authoritative power.

There's also the question of whether more people with vision will be encountered, and if the war between the sighted and the blind will end in peace or bloodshed. Regardless, Baba and his family will determine how this story ends.

Seasons 1 and 2 of See are available on Apple TV Plus; Season 3 premieres on August 26, 2022.
