For a decade now, Secretlab has been one of the go-to names when it comes to gaming chairs, known primarily for its signature design and comfort. Over the years, I have tested several of Secretlab’s chairs and accessories, coming away impressed each time. But in any Secretlab gaming chair review, it was also important to point out the price, which can be prohibitive. Secretlab’s TITAN Evo chair, for example, is very impressive and incredibly comfortable, but at $549, it’s also expensive. That’s why Secretlab has designed the TITAN Evo Lite, a slightly cheaper version of its flagship gaming chair.

Right out of the package and after a quick and painless building process, the TITAN Evo Lite looks almost exactly like the TITAN Evo, so much so that it even comes in some of the OG Evo’s most popular colors. As Secretlab explains, the chair features 95% of the TITAN Evo’s features, only at 20% less cost to gamers. And in our testing, the TITAN Evo Lite doesn’t feel like a downgrade at all. It is still an exceptional gaming chair that offers the comfort and customization that Secretlab is known for.

What Are the Differences Between the TITAN Evo and Evo Lite

All the best parts of any Secretlab chair are present in the TITAN Evo Lite. The backrest can tilt from an upright position into a full recline. You can put your feet up and lock the axis on the wheelbase in place. The armrests can extend up and down, forward and backward, or swivel inward or outward. And there is lumbar support built into the backrest - although, unlike the TITAN Evo, it is not adjustable.

The differences between the Evo and the Lite are either in the material or the technology supporting its features. For example, the material on the Evo Lite gaming chair is either the Prime 2.0 Leatherette or the SoftWeave Fabric, both of which appeared on earlier Secretlab chair models like the TITAN 2020 and feel high quality while looking nice on display. On the TITAN Evo, Secretlab upgraded its material options to be either a higher quality faux leather or what it calls SoftWeave Fabric Plus. To be honest, you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference immediately, and there is no loss in comfort, which is key.

The TITAN Evo Lite only offers 5 color/fabric options but the chair is compatible with Secretlab's SKINS slipcovers, which further adds to the customization potential.

Other differences are slight, like the Evo offers the ability to swap out armrest material, an included Memory Foam pillow (that you can purchase separately), that aforementioned lumbar adjustment, and the TITAN Evo Lite doesn’t offer a Small size option, only Regular or XL. Even then, the dimensions of the Secretlab TITAN Evo Lite are the same as the Evo – it has the comfortable cold cure foam pebble base that is extra wide to support your legs better than most chairs, and the wider backrest that promotes good posture while still feeling good to lay back against.

Honestly, nothing about the Secretlab TITAN Evo Lite gaming chair feels like a downgrade compared to the other chairs we’ve tested. Rather, the TITAN Evo now feels like an upgrade, with features that seem like bells and whistles and whose utility will vary based on the needs of each person. Price is still going to be a point of contention, though, as the TITAN Evo Lite retails for $449. It’s a cheaper gaming chair, but not a cheap gaming chair.

As we’ve said in any Secretlab review, a gaming chair is an investment that pays off in the lack of back pain and the ability to game for longer. The TITAN Evo is easily one of our favorite gaming chairs and now the TITAN Evo Lite slots right alongside it, at a lower price point and with some slight differences in design. Lite might suggest something less-than, but this is a superb chair that anyone would be happy to have as part of their gaming setup or office space.
