How to Play Mr. Chest's Chump Change Mini Game
There is an out-of-the-way little house in the port town of Brisk where players can find Mr. Chest. In it, Mr. Chest asks if the player wants to play the chump change game for five gold. He gives the choice of three different chests; one will be empty, one will have two gold in it, and one will have the grand prize of 10 gold in it. If the player chooses the 10 gold grand prize chest five times, they will earn a Rainbow Conch shell. There isn't a Sea of Stars achievement for winning, but the Conch is well worth the effort.
The Best Way to Win Mr. Chest's Chump Change Mini Game
It appears the only way to get those five wins without wasting gold is to save scum. Players will need to walk south down the alley from Mr. Chest's house, down the stairs, then to the right to get to the closest save point. After a win, be sure to save the game, and reset after a loss. The five grand prize wins don't have to be in a row, though, so players don't have to save scum if they don't want to. It depends on how much money they have in their pockets. The save scumming will add quite a bit of time to the overall run time of Sea of Stars.
In order to keep playing Chump Change over and over again, players will have to speak to Mr. Chest, play the game, then leave the house and reenter to play again. There is no required wait time between runs, but the room does have to be reloaded. Once the five wins have occurred, Mr. Chest will reward the player with one of the sixty Rainbow Conches in Sea of Stars.
