Sea of Stars is a large RPG with a pixel art look. In order to 100% this classic JRPG inspired-game, which is highly recommended as it helps players see the "true ending," players will need to collect a bunch of hard-to-find items called Rainbow Conches. There are quite a few of these collectibles, and they can be found all over the map. Some players might need to get a little help to make sure they don't miss any Conches while going through the world of Sea of Stars.

Rewards For Collecting Rainbow Conches in Sea of Stars
There are a grand total of 60 Rainbow Conches in Sea of Stars. While it will take players a long time to get them all, there are some great rewards for picking them up. At Lake Docarria, the NPC named Mirna will give players rewards based on the number of Conches they have found. These are:
- Inn building plans at 4 Conches
- Cornucopia Accessory at 11 Conches
- Shop building plans at 19 Conches
- Sea of Stars Fishing Hut building plans at 22 Conches
- Falcon-eyed Parrot Relic at 27 Conches
- The recipe for making Poutine at 35 Conches
- Spa building plans at 39 Conches
- The recipe for making Pudding Chomeur at 47 Conches
- Rainbow Star at 60 Conches to get the true ending of Sea of Stars
All Rainbow Conch Locations in Sea of Stars in Order
The Rainbow Conches here are listed in order players will find them in the game. These are the first-time through Rainbow Conches, so those that need players to retrace their steps when they get a new power will be included later in the list.
X'Tol's Landing
While there are other Rainbow Conches in previous locations, players won't yet have the powers needed to get them. The first one players will be able to pick up in a playthrough will be along the route through X'Tol's Landing. After the first stone bridge, look for a chest tucked in the corner of some platforms that form stairs.
Wind Tunnel Mines
In the bottom part of the mine, there is a Rainbow Conch chest on the floor behind this pillar.
Stonemasons Post
After going through the Wind Tunnel Mines and grabbing the Mistral Bracelet, players can help the mole looking to take a bath. Go into the first floor house right by the bath, and turn on the spinning wind catcher inside. This will turn on the water, allowing the mole to take a bath. Talk to them, and they will give up a Rainbow Conch for the help.
Next, go into the upper right-hand house that has two doors, one open and one closed off. Head right through the open door to the room with the painter, then look for the giant green stone. Move it with the Mistra Bracelet, then grab the blue chest inside.
Coral Cascades
The first time the waterfalls of the Coral Cascades split off into three different waterfalls, pick the one furthest to the right. At the bottom of this waterfall will be an unreachable Conch treasure chest; turn the green fan with the Mistral Bracelet in order to be able to reach it.
At the bottom of the Cascades, there is a breakable floor. Use the water geysers to climb back up far enough to jump down and break it. This will put you in the water underneath it. Swim down until the chest is visible.
Port Town of Brisk Before the Catastrophe
From the entrance of town, head all the way to the south until reaching the water. Then turn left and go to the end of the road. There is a blue chest at the end of the beach near the mole person who tells players about it.
Since players are at the docks already, they can get to the secret shop underneath the pier. There is a rope ladder down into the water; head in and grab the chest with the Rainbow Conch.
Once in the water to get the Rainbow Conch above, swim to the bottom left corner of the sea that players can reach. There is a little boat in the water. Talk to the son, and he will ask players to give him 40 fish filets. The son will be so happy that they won't be fishing anymore that he will give players one Rainbow Conch.
From the boat, swim back to the beached boat where the tavern is, then swim to the right past the boat. Look for two kids playing in the sand together on the beach and chat with them; one will give up a Rainbow Conch.
Head to Mr. Chest's Chump Change game in the left part of map. Play the mini-game until winning the 10 gold jackpot five times and Mr. Chest will give the player a Rainbow Conch.
In the upper-right-most corner of the city, there is a house with a balcony that has a pushable box on it. Use the bracelet to push the box off of the balcony, then push it over in front of the closed door to the right. Climb over the box over and to the back of the house; there is a secret room back there with a chest and a Conch inside. Here's where this one is located post-Catastrophe:
Abandoned Wizard's Lab
There are a couple of other Rainbow Conches in Brisk, but players won't be able to get them just yet. So it's time to head to the tavern, talk to the pirates, then go to the Wizard's Lab. Inside, there are three lit pedestals where players can put the red, blue, or green crystals to get different portals to different rooms. If players use both the blue and green crystals on the pedestals, there is a Conch inside. Jump down into the water to the left, then look for the chest under the platform.
Another Rainbow Conch can be found in the room made by using just the Red Crystal. Players need to complete the puzzle, and the prize will be the Conch.
Wraith Island Docks
On the way through the Docks, there is a hidden chest underneath the wooden bridge with a Conch inside.
Town of Lucent
In the far right part of the town, at the top of the map, there is a rock bridge over the water. On the other side, head south until running into an NPC who is digging. Near him is a place players can jump down into the water. Once swimming, swim up past the stone bridge again until there is a place where the player can climb back up; there is another Conch chest in to the northeast.
There is a light blue chest inside one of the homes in Town of Lucent, but when players try to interact with it, it will disappear. The haunted portrait above the chest will say that players can't have the chest. "If you want it, you're going to have to get my BROTHER to make AMENDS." The brother's portrait is in the house immediately to the northwest of this first house. Head inside and talk to the brother's portrait; he will ask players to give the original portrait a Berry Jam. He will then bring back the chest, and players can get the Rainbow Conch.
Cursed Woods
There is only one Rainbow Conch in the Cursed Woods, and it can be found to the left of the second wooden bridge.
Flooded Graveyard
After fighting Duke Aventry, hop down into the water, then swim up to grab the chest that is hiding there.
Necromancer's Lair
Immediately after the save book and the campfire in the Necromancer's Lair, players can choose to go left, right, or up into the three-skull door. Head right and swim through the door. Head to the upper-right-hand corner of th map, and use the graplou on the enemy on the other side of the schism to get across.
Haunted Mansion
There is a Conch chest that is closed off in the dining room area of the Haunted Mansion. Players can access this one by heading out into the garden. Before going into the hedge maze, go all the way to the right side of the screen and look for a pot there to interact with. This pot has a button under it; pressing it opens up the wall and lets players into the area with the chest.
Ancient Crypt
Before heading into the depths of the Ancient Crypt, there is a blue chest in the upper right by the entrance, half hidden behind a pillar.
Mirth
After checking out the Ancient Crypt, players will return to Mirth; look at the two-story building in the middle of town. There is a Rainbow Conch on the roof.
Sacred Grove
Near the end of the shrine, in the area right before the altar, players can find this Conch behind a waterfall.
Lake Docarria
Head into the Item Shop, then go to the left back wall. There is a climbable surface to get to the whirlpool behind the two vendors. Go into that whirlpool, then swim over to the left and up to the second whirlpool out. This is the second floor of the Item Shop, and there is a door in the bottom right to get out onto the balcony. There is a Rainbow Conch treasure chest there.
There is a building in the bottom right of the village with a whirlpool and a lever inside. Pull the lever to open the wall to get into the whirlpool. Swim through the passage, then up into the private home. There is a Rainbow Conch in the upper left part of this home.
In the middle right of the map, south of Mirna's Rainbow Conch store, there is an older man who has lost his three grandchildren while playing hide and seek. He asks the player to find them. Here are the three locations for the children.
Head into the Item Shop and take the whirlpool in the back. Go into the whirlpool to the left, then look for the grandchild behind the table.
The next child is also in the Item Shop. Take the upper-left whirlpool into the room where the balcony door is located and look for the kid on the left side of the room.
The third kid is located in the upper-right-hand building next to Mirna's shop. Go into the whirlpool and find the kid to the left. After finding all three kids, head back to the grandfather; he will give up a Rainbow Conch for the help.
Tower of Antsuldo
Just before heading into the final door of the Tower of Antsuldo, look in the bottom corner of the right-hand room. There is a switch and a treasure chest that players can jump down to after getting the pearl.
Glacial Peak
Once players have the Solstice Amulet, they will head back through this area again. On the way out, there is a Grapou pillar that they can swing across and get this Rainbow Conch Chest.
Torment Peak
After the second save book, players will need to head south into the next room. Immediately head to the left and look for some green, shiny vines that lead down past the enemies that will jump out of the darkness. Climb down, head right, go into the door, and the chest will be there.
Mossy Cache
After completing the puzzle in this area, there will be a blue treasure chest to the left of the Vial of Time's platform.
Autumn Hills
At the top of the tallest climbable tree in Autumn Hills, the way forward is to the right, but to the left is a small platform with a mostly-hidden blue chest.
Bamboo Creek
Hop down into the water, and grab the chest at the bottom of this little pond.
Songshroom Marsh
Behind Yomara's house there is a half-hidden chest with a Rainbow Conch in it.
Clockwork Castle
Inside the inner workings of the Clockwork Castle, players will find a puzzle room on the second floor that the elevator brings them to. Players need to solve this puzzle in order to move on.
Cloud Kingdom
Before heading to see the council, take a rest from the giant in the first teleporter. Before sleeping at the fire, be sure to pick up the Conch chest in the corner.
After speaking to the Council, there will be a chest on the right side of the screen, mostly hidden behind the pillar there.
Air Elemental Skyland
There is an open cave mouth immediately underneath the large, four-part light puzzle in the Skylands.
Kiln Mountain
Before defeating the Lava Monster, Valere will come across some spiky lava rocks that can be broken with the rolling lava ball. There is a Rainbow Chest behind some of these rocks.
Return to Mooncradle
In the southeastern-most part of the village, there is a pile of sticks surrounded by piles of leaves. Push all the leaves together with the Mistral Bracelet just like the Leaf and Root boss from the Autumn Hills, and a farmer will give up a Rainbow Conch.
Players will need the Mistral Bracelet for the second Mooncradle Conch as well. Find the field with the thorny plants and broken boxes in it. Use the Mistral power to push the boxes around and break all the plants down. Then head into the house to the south of that field, and talk to the man inside. He will give players a Conch for their trouble.
Return to the Forbidden Cavern
Now that the party has access to the Mistral Bracelet, they can nab this hidden Rainbow Conch. After entering the cave, take the first left. There will be a large square platform that can be moved with the wind power; there is a chest behind it.
Return to Mountain Trail
Now that players have the Graplou hook, they can get over to the Conch in the middle of the Mountain Trail. Look for it near the first rope bridges.
Return to the Elder Mist Trials
Go into the Trials and head to the trial teleporter on the left. Just inside the teleporter, look up and left for a large block. This can be moved with the Mistral wind power, and there is a chest behind it.
Return to Moorlands
Now that players have access to the Mistral Bracelet, they can head back to the Moorlands. There is a green moveable block near the Mooreland's northwestern entrance that can be moved to get a Conch chest.
With the Cobalt Hammer, players can finally break the blue crystals blocking this chest. It's located in the western part of the Moorlands.
Return to the Port Town of Brisk
This Conch requires a little more doing; players will need to chat with the ice cream-eating Mole along the docks to the left of the merchants and save book. This mole will mention wanting someone to paint them; head back to the painter in the Stonemasons Post where a previous Rainbow Conch was found. Tell this artist about the ice-cream-eating Mole, and they will travel to Brisk. Once they are set up and painting, talk to the painter Mole; they will give up a Rainbow Conch.
Return to Mirth
Now that players have some Rainbow Conches, they can talk to Mirna and get the plans for some of the buildings in Mirth. Talk to Jirard the Constructionist, and he will start building any plans brought back from Mirna. Once the Fisherman's Hut is built and the Fisherman has been brought back from Mooncradle, players can find a Rainbow Conch chest on the right side of the fishing area.
Stillpond Island
There is nothing at Stillpond Island the first time players sail to it except this Rainbow Conch chest in the upper, right-hand part of the fishing pond with no fish.
Return to the Jungle Path
Once players have the Solstice Amulet, they can return to the Jungle Path to get the Rainbow Conch that is there. First, they need to move the three mirrors so they will reflect the light in the right direction. In order to do this, change the time of day with the Solstice Amulet until it is night and the left diamond is lit up.
Rotate the bottom mirror so it is forcing northeast, like this:
Then, rotate the other two mirrors like this, so the right-hand mirror is facing northwest, and the left-hand mirror is facing southeast.
Once all the mirrors are in a line, head back up to the prism to light up both the diamonds. Players will have to light the sunny side with the longer timer on it first, so turn to day, light up the right diamond, then turn it to night to light up the left diamond. This will lift the mirrors and turn on the laser, redirecting the laser to the face-shaped rock in the upper left-hand corner of th map.
Once the cave is open, head inside and pick up the items there; next, go outside to the balcony above the cave mouth to get this Rainbow Conch.
Derelict Factory
After sailing the Sea of Stars, players will get to the Derelict Factory. In the main area of the factory, there is a Light Crane that can pick up objects and drop them off wherever the player chooses. In the upper right-hand part of this section of the map, there is a Conch chest; pick it up with the crane and put it back down in the hole on the right side of the crane's controls.
Repine
When heading into the city from the world map, walk straight forward into the alley. There is a chest at the end of it.
There is a Rainbow Conch chest inside the weapons shop on the second floor of the village.
The third Rainbow Conch will take several steps. When entering the Derelict Factory, there is a cooking spot where players can pull together some recipes to exchange for a Conch. In the bar where the pirate band is playing, look for a giant robot worm-snake thing at the counter. It will ask for five types of food. After feeding the robot these five items, it will give up a Rainbow Conch in exchange.
- Feed me something SWEET.
- Feed me something WARMING.
- Feed me something MEATY.
- Feed me something LIGHT.
- Feed me something FROM THE WATER.
While there are many things that probably work for these, here are the recipes that are guaranteed to work:
- Sweet: Berry Jam
- Warming: Hearty Stew
- Meaty: Roast Sandwich
- Light: Basic Salad
- From the Water: Herbed Filet
Cerulean Expanse
From the starting point of the Cerulean Expanse, head south, southwest, southeast, and south. This will get the party to a rest area with loads of foods, a cooking fire, a save book, and four chests. Inside the light blue one is a Rainbow Conch.
Seat of Triumvirate
In the Seat of Triumvirate, to the left of the campfire, there will be a Conch treasure chest by the stairs down.
Sky Base
In the maze of the Sky Base, there is a section with four platforms that players have to move with orange buttons. Line up the two left-most platforms with the back wall, and look for the chest above them.
Return to Cerulean Expanse
After completing the Infinite Abyss section in Serai's World, make camp and have a chat with Serai. She will tell of a danger to her people: the Queen that Was. She will give the player a belt buckle and ask to have Teaks take a look. Chat with Teaks, and she will tell a story of those whole looked for the Queen that Was in the desert. The correct directions to get there are: northeast, southeast, northeast, then east. At the foot of the throne of the Queen that Was, to the left side of the stairs, is a chest with the Rainbow Conch in it.
Sealed Docarri Ruins
Once players have gotten to the end of the story, and there is nothing left to do other than kill the Fleshmancer, make a camp and talk to Resh’an's puppet. He will direct players to an island in the upper left-hand corner of the Home World map. Head there, then complete all four of the shrines it points out. After the final boss is killed, there will be a shell chest there.
Half-Sunken Tower
The final Rainbow Conch requires that the player head back to the Flooded Graveyard. Head to the upper left-hand part of this map, and speak to Duke Aventry. He will say something about wishing he could remember. Go into the cave behind him and take a screenshot of the runes on the wall. Fly to the small island a little to the north and east of the Flooded Graveyard. There are some ruins there called Romanya’s Secret Passage; go inside and match the runes and the colors of the runes on the three pillars.
After the runes are lined up, the door will open and let players back into the cave behind Duke Aventry. Open the treasure chest that is now reachable; inside is a journal. Give the journal to the Duke, and he will produce the Yellow Flame.
Bring the Yellow Flame to the Ferryman, and he will take the group to a new place: the Half-Sunken Tower. Head north to the apple tree, then east to the raft. Ride the raft south, then fight the enemies there. Go south from where the enemies were, then the Conch will be in a chest to the south.
