It was revealed in Scream (2022) that Sidney Prescott has three daughters with Scream 3's Detective Mark Kincaid, but there is set to be a time jump in Scream 7 to age the two oldest girls to their teenage years, to make them age appropriate for a Ghostface attack. But a good twist might be to see Sidney's offspring become the killer(s) behind the iconic mask.

Sidney Prescott has been targeted by family members on two separate occasions in the Scream franchise, so it wouldn't be a stretch to suggest another blood relative might target her in Scream 7. However, it would be quite unique if the killer(s) were people she brought into the world, with Sidney's teenage daughters set to appear in the upcoming sequel.

Roman Bridger's Ghostface killer in Scream 3 was revealed to be Sidney's half brother, who was out for revenge on his sister, after their mother, Maureen Prescott, abandoned him. Sidney didn't know she had a brother until the Ghostface reveal at the end of the movie, so the betrayal wasn't as strong as it might've been if they'd had an active relationship.

The next family member to turn on Sidney was her cousin Jill Roberts in Scream 4, who was jealous of all the attention Sidney got because she was a Ghostface survivor. Once again, the relationship between Jill and Sidney was somewhat estranged until the murders started up again in Woodsboro. As much as it was a betrayal when Sidney discovered her cousin was the killer, she had no qualms about killing her to bring an end to the carnage.

If one or both of Sidney's daughters were revealed to be the Ghostface killers in Scream 7, it would be a significantly different conundrum for Sidney. The love for a child is above any other, making the betrayal and hurt much more intense than a half brother or cousin being unmasked as the Ghostface killer.

It would be very interesting to see if Sidney would kill one or both of her children if she discovered they were the Ghostface killers in Scream 7. She probably wouldn't let them get away with their crimes, but killing them might be a step too far. A Ghostface survival in Scream 7 could freshen things up in the franchise, meaning this idea could potentially work.

What could Sidney's daughter's motive be to become Ghostface in Scream 7?

Sidney Prescott

It takes a very extreme motive to push a child to want to kill their parents, but if Scream 7 was to go down this route with Sidney Prescott's daughters being the Ghostface killers, there are a few possible Ghostface motives linked to Sidney that could be explored.

When the iconic final girl, Laurie Strode, was brought back in Halloween (2018), it was revealed that she had become very protective of her daughter, Karen, which led to a certain amount of resentment from Laurie's offspring. A possible motive for Sidney's daughter's wanting their mother dead could be linked to Sidney's overprotective nature towards them. It would be understandable that Sidney had become paranoid due to what she'd gone through over the years, and this is bound to have had some impact on her children.

It is likely that Sidney and her family are living in some form of hiding in Scream 7 due to a potential attack from another deranged Ghostface killer. This would likely have some negative impact on her teenage daughters. It was revealed during the events of Scream 6, that Sidney and Mark had taken their kids somewhere safe until the New York City attacks were over. Despite Sidney trying to protect her kids, this could be perceived negatively by her teenage daughters, and cause disruption to their lives.

There is a chance that if Sidney's daughters do become the Ghostface killers in Scream 7, they will likely target their father, Mark Kincaid, as well. Mark would probably share Sidney's overprotective nature, due in part to his former career as a homicide detective in Los Angeles. In addition to this, he has witnessed first hand the trauma that Sidney has suffered over the years, and would be supportive towards her. There's also a chance that Sidney and Mark's daughters could be part of the Cult of Ghostface killers being rumored to feature in Scream 7.
