"A Piece of the Action" is the fifth main story mission in Saints Row and becomes available once players have completed "Observe and Report" for Gwen. The aim of the mission is to recover some stolen car parts for JR, who, after the chaos of the last mission, is planning to retire from the business and open up his own garage. He'll offer players a percentage of the business for helping out, but they'll need to get their hands pretty dirty in order to earn their reward.

As JR explains at the beginning of the mission, the car parts were stolen by the Idols, one of the many violent gangs who can be found roaming around in the world of Saints Row. These anarchistic neon enthusiasts are incredibly dangerous and have the potential to cause players some serious problems if they're not careful. With this in mind, players will need to bring their A game in order to emerge from the mission unscathed.

How to Complete "A Piece of the Action"

Once they've spoken with JR to begin the mission, players should make their way over to the location marked on the map. Rather than going in all guns blazing, however, the playable character will make up some story about wanting to join the Idols, allowing them to walk into the Idols' camp unchecked. Once there, players will need to head for the yellow circle and then speak with Sheryl in the snake mask, Martin the headbanger, and Timmy O, the Idols member who's busy fixing up his bike.

When asked about the stolen car parts, Timmy O will direct players to a nearby warehouse, where they'll find a storage container and a group of angry Idols. Despite Kevin's request for a peaceful approach, there's no way to avoid conflict here, so players can go ahead and take out the Idols however they see fit. Most are fairly easy to deal with, though the ones with the spinning neon weapons can only be hit in the brief window after they've thrown them or by performing a takedown with Triangle (PlayStation) or Y (Xbox).

After clearing out all of the enemies, players should hop into the nearby buggy and then attach the tow cable to the container. The game doesn't actually explain how exactly they're supposed to do this, but, with a little trial and error, players will soon find that the R1 button (RB on Xbox) can be used to fire the buggy's tow cable from the back of the vehicle. With this in mind, it's a simple case of positioning the buggy so that the container is directly behind it and then pressing the appropriate button to attach the cable.

Upon attaching the tow cable, several members of the Idols will begin to give chase. Players can try to take them out by using the shipping container as a weapon if they want to, but it's arguably a lot easier to just drive the container straight back to JR's place and then deal with any Idols members that are still in pursuit once there. A few more waves of Idols will turn up after players have returned the car parts, but, providing they utilize the many cover spots around the area, they shouldn't have too much trouble taking them all out.

"A Piece of the Action" Rewards

Once all of the Idols are dead, the mission will end and players will receive $1,000 cash and 3,000 XP. They'll also unlock the Idols Anubis Helmet, Jimrob's garage, vehicle customization, and the CA$H TRAN$FER app. Though they won't be able to fast travel directly to Jimrob's, there is an unlockable fast travel location nearby, so, while they're here, players should definitely consider visiting the Panther Rock landmark if they haven't already done so.

Saints Row is available now for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
