PlayStation has announced that Sackboy: A Big Adventure will have God of War: Ragnarok skins available in celebration of the game’s upcoming release. Sackboy is well-known for containing cross-over content from other video game franchises, including Ratchet & Clank, Uncharted, and The Last of Us, for players to collect.Sackboy: A Big Adventure was released as a platform game in 2020 and received generally positive reviews. It was also well-received by fans of the LittleBigPlanet series, of which it’s a spinoff. Though it was originally released on PlayStation 4 and 5 consoles, the game came to PC in late October. Since its release, it has continued to dish out new content, like the mentioned DLC skins and a Fall Guys crossover.RELATED: Sackboy: A Big Adventure Adding New Uncharted SkinsPlayers can expect the new God of War: Ragnarok costumes to feature Fimbulwinter edition clothing for the main characters: Kratos, Atreus, and Freya. The skins become available on November 9, the same day as the game's launch. It’s also worth mentioning that Sackboy: A Big Adventure costumes are cosmetic and don’t actually add anything extra other than sporting a look to support favorite characters and are something to strive to collect in the game. The gameplay itself is not affected at all.

Another way Sackboy: A Big Adventure plans to celebrate the game’s debut is by offering emotes to go with the same God of War: Ragnarok characters. The emotes allow players to pose their characters and take a photo at the end of a level. Its main purpose is to add even more personality and interaction with Sackboy. Now, fans can take photos dressed as their favorite character from the God of War franchise and share them with friends.

Despite the lack of any meaningful purpose for the costumes beyond cosmetics, the iconic characters from God of War are a great addition along with the rest of the franchises. Though they look a bit strange, hilarious, and adorable in the Sackboy: A Big Adventure world, especially Kratos, they keep the look faithful to the original, and fans of both games will likely enjoy the change.

It’s also great that PlayStation chose to cross-platform the game, so now all fans can enjoy the accessibility to the game as well as the various themed skins it has to offer. Time will tell what other franchises Sackboy: A Big Adventure will turn into costumes, but it's safe to say that the crossover cosmetics are welcome additions to most players. Overall the release of new skins will definitely add some appeal to the game, which hasn’t caused quite as big of a splash as the original series it spawned from.

Sackboy: A Big Adventure is out now on PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
